I wonder if they have to return the gifts.

"Hello, I would like to return one, barely used, gerbil tube. Is that store credit or cash?"

They can still elope in Massachusetts.

That's the real battlefield. The Defense of Marriage Act v. Full Faith and Credit Clause.

It's legally irrelevant. A 1913 Massachusetts law make it illegal to marry any out-of-state resident from a state whose law forbids his marrying. The problem in Mass. is that local officials are routinely breaking state law, in issuing marriage licenses to out-of-state homosexual couples. Thisd will not stop until Gov. Romney starts acting like a governor, and throws some city and town clerks into jail. Apparently, he lacks the cojones to do that.

Now, you have done it.

Lanny Davis's boy friends are monitoring Free Republic find stuff to trash the Swift Boat Vets.

When they see your reply, they will not be able to monitor anything for a day or two. They will be so excited.

This should lead to an avalanche of lawsuits against the city of San Francisco for dereliction of duty snd fraud. A lot of money was spent on weddings because they knowingly misrepresented and defied the written law to these people...

So do they start by refunding all the marriage license fees?

Move to Mass. or WA states to get hitched. WA state superior court judge just ruled that gays could marry in WA. Appeal pending.

"The SCOCA is actually fairly conservative... most of the judges were appointed by Republican Governors (Wilson, Duekmajian, Reagan)."

Yes, as a native Californian currently living in exile, I can proudly say that we threw out the Governor Moonbeam appointees in 1986. Those were the days!

This kind of classless gay-bashing is de riguer among conservatives, folks who would never speak like this about any other group in society.

Where have you been? Ridiculing people for their choices and actions has always been the rule here (as well as everywhere else in civilized society). From Darwin award nominees to democrats to sodomites we've blistered them all.

Now making jokes about people who can't help the way they are (like the handicapped in most cases) would be somewhat crass but slamming a poofter is just good sport.

There's still time to get that federal marriage amendment on the November ballot.
I hope the yellow bellied Republicans in Washington are paying attention!
I'm sure the people in Washington state have just become huge Bush supporters!

As you know, it's never been about love - it's always been about activism.

Actually, as Rush says, "Follow the money". It's all about benefits: Social Security, medical, etc. Anything that's going to cost the rest of us gazillions of dollars in taxes and insurance premiums.
