Pics From Bush in Santa Monica Today I went to the Bush fundraiser in Santa Monica today. Here are some pictures and a short report. I got there to 31st and Ocean Park Blvd about 2pm. The gathering was officially scheduled to start at about 3 and go until 5pm. Here's the scene as I arrived:
Not a lot of people at first, but it eventually grew to a couple hundred. Everyone was in good spirits and I quickly grabbed one of the signs my wife and I had helped make the night before at a sign-making party at the Westside headquarters. The signs we made were: "Win the War" "W 4 Women" "Peace thru Victory" and "4 More Years"--I couldn't find any of those so I grabbed this one: There was a healthy mix of people there--what I especially liked were so many Vietnamese Americans there with signs like "Americans for a Free Vietnam Support Bush"--note the Vietnamese flag in this picture: I didn't snap a picture of him--but there was an elderly Vietnamese man in complete military fatigues (he must have been in his 60s) that was staunchly pro-Bush. It was a fun thing to see. But lest our party go unopposed--here we have the first signs of the disloyal opposition:
Yup, that's International ANSWER out in force. They were here, so was Code Pink, and they were angry (when are they not?): But not only were they angry--they had CHEERLEADERS!
But they were also rebellious--in a yuppie sort of way: Some noteworthy events/random observations: * I broke up a fight. At one point, a Bush supporter had a lifesize cutout of Bush and was crossing the street back and forth. A lady PUNCHED the cutout in the head and a 2nd Bush supporter (a lady) grabbed the first one's arm--some shoving commenced and lest it devolve into a Sapphic tryst--I jumped in and broke it up. The anti-Bush lady made her way to our side of the street where one pro-Bush MAN then grabbed her arm--I proceeded to object STRONGLY and forcibly removes his hand and told him to "knock that crap off." The anti-Bush lady made some pissant comment about "Really good image you are projecting here." to which I replied "Respect our free speech and we'll respect yours." * While we rec'd a lot of sympathetic car honks--also rec'd quite a few middle fingers--to which I would reply "You're #1!" * I noticed we rec'd far more middle fingers from senior citizens than anyone else...weird. * I had a lengthy debate with a reasonable guy on the other side--he was wrong and at one point, frustrated, said: "It's hard to argue with you...you know too damn much." Hehe. * Leftists are FAR better chanters than Republicans. I chalk it up to the fact they bring drums. * Republican chants are just lame. (Example: "Hey hey, ho ho, a Cowboy not a Giggolo") * A random guy wandered over onto the Republican corner and started screaming "FUCK BUSH! FUCK BUSH!" right behind me. I turned around and screamed: "YEEEAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!! YEEEAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!" He looked at my 6'3", 220 lb self like *I* was crazy. * A lady I was standing next to was BITTEN by the child of an anti-Bush lady. Apparently she was having her kid go around trying to BITE people with Bush stickers. * While the left has their goofballs--we have our angry, Michael Savage-esque assholes too. I saw one pro-Bush guy nearly get into TWO fights with the ANSWER idiots. He was a dick. * There was a group there called "Billionaires for Bush" consisting of people dressed in bad suits and prom dresses thanking us for "paying their taxes." * I asked a female "Billionaire for Bush", complete in cheap dress, bad makeup, and tiara, if it's ok for me to be rich. She said "Well you need a tax cut first"--I told her I rec'd one. She said "Oh, you're one of us then?!" I said "No, but I'd LIKE to be, may I keep my money please?" She walked away. * I rec'd a flyer from a kind of goofy guy promoting this website which contains such mind blowing revelations as:
It is my opinion, as a result of 23 years of experience dealing with satanic cults, that the fall of the World Trade Center was executed by Satanists who have infiltrated the Government. Fun ain't it? Overall, it was a fun time. Nobody really got out of hand--I left at about 7pm.

Hmm, I probably would have told that woman who sent the kid to bite others that I have aids, you think that would have put a stop to the biting?

Not that I have aids, but that woman should be careful with her kid.

Last Thursday afternoon, HUNDREDS of happy, smiling, flag-waving patriotic Americans gathered outside a "private, secret" fundraiser at the Santa Monica airport to welcome President Bush back to Los Angeles, for his first visit to southern California since March 2004. Two very highly repected sources independently calculated that over FIFTEEN HUNDRED people overwhelmed the intersection of 31st Street and Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica, just north of the hanger in which President Bush, Laura Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger appeared at a private fundraiser which had not been widely publicized until a few days before the event -- with the crowd outside roughly divided into half pro-Bush and half anti-Bush.
On a Thursday afternoon.

The guy holding him was having Bush "salute" as he crossed the street!! It was GREAT!!
No wonder the Lefties freaked out.
The PEOPLE love the President, and these revoltionaires can't stand that!
