Sitting this one out (open letter to RNC)

TO: Republican National Committee Cc: Butler Co. Republican party Ohio Republican Party George W. Bush

Subject: Sitting this one out

As a conservative, I have become increasingly disappointed at the leftward drift of the Republican Party under the leadership of George W. Bush. His monetary and immigration policies are prime examples.

I have come to the conclusion that he is, quite simply, unacceptable. Furthermore, the overall position of the Republican Party is too far to the left to suit me.

The argument that "the other guy is worse" is invalid. There is now such an indiscernible difference between the Republican and Democrat parties that it would make little difference who won the election.

You have not put up a good candidate since Ronald Reagan. I have held my nose and voted in the last three elections, but I can't stomach it any more.

Therefore, this year, I will vote for no Republican candidates at the national, state or local level. If I find an acceptable conservative 3rd party, I will vote for them.

If we lose the election, so be it. My prayer is that a sound drubbing will slap some sense back into the Republican Party.

- Wayne Keller Cincinnati, Ohio

There's so many differences and reasons why Kerry must not win that I can't even think where to start....

So, I guess National Security means nothing to you

The borders are wide open and thousands of illegal aliens from Mexico and the Middle East are streaming in.

Border control IS a National Security issue, regardless whether or not it hurts the feelings of GOP hacks and other keepers of the status quo.

Wayne Keller is undoubtedly some liberal who is hoping to stir discontent among conservatives at this site by faking some principled stand against Republicans.

He is more than a troll. He is a fraud.

His mistake is that no conservative could really be as stupid as he purports to be.

After all the news about John Kerry by the Swifties...you think there is no difference between Kerry and Bush. Are you out of your mind? Kerry- the candidate- is busily trying to stop free speech (ban swifties and swifty book). What would he do against his enemies as President (this would include talk radio, Fox and Free Republic)? Kerry would restrict and tax the INTERNET. Kerry would raise taxes. Kerry would appoint ultra-liberals to the judiciary. Kerry would not stop the job outsourcing (an issue dear to your heart). Heinz ketchup is not made in this country! Kerry would legalize gay marriage and make sure partial birth abortion stayed legal. Finally, Kerry is a traitor to his country. It would be like electing Benedict Arnold as president.

MR. REAGAN SIGNED INTO LAW AN IMMIGRATION AMNESTY BILL IN 1986.

And Reagan himself said he has regretted it ever since.

I agree with the poster - Bush's immigration and fiscal policies stink. But I'm not going to stay home, though.

True, but are you prepared to surrender the Republic to an insane candidate (Kerry) and his insane supporters (the Dems)?

If so, that would be very French of you.

Take another look at Michael Moore and think about it...

To believe in a future for America, you have to believe that (in the long run) the People can choose wisely.

Politicians from Bush to your dogcatcher are professionals at figuring out what the People want (as was Ronald Reagan).

The reason there is not a strong Constitutionalist party is because the People don't want (won't support) it.

Hold your nose and vote for Bush, because after Kerry gets elected (actually, it's going to be Hillary) you won't be doing much voting.

What a fighter you are. I really think you would find much in the character of John Kerry that would appeal to you.

Way to let the rest of us down. I'm not even a Republican, and I can see the choice this year is a no-brainer.

How boring..........not to mention unoriginal. Wouldn't you think that the demoRats could think of something a tad bit more inventive??? But, then again, probably not. The demoRats have no new ideas, thoughts, or suggestions. Just the same old, same old. Raise taxes, raise taxes, raise taxes........B O R I N G !!!

Government Reform

1. Improved government efficiency by putting hundreds of thousands of jobs put up for bid. This weakens public-sector unions and cuts undeserved pay raises.

2. Initiated review of all federal agencies with the goal of eliminating federal jobs (completed September 2003) in an effort to reduce the size of the federal government while increasing private sector jobs.

3. Led the most extensive reorganization the Federal bureaucracy in over 50 years: After 9/11, condensed 20+ overlapping agencies and their intelligence sectors into one agency, the Department of Homeland Security.

4. Ordered each agency to draft a five-year plan to restructure itself, with fewer managers.

5. Converted federal service contracts to performance-based contracts wherever possible so that the contractor has measurable performance goals.

If he was truly reforming the government and making it more efficient, it wouldn't cost 30% more than we he took office. And no, all that money is not going to the war effort.

Poor baby I'm sure you can find a pacifier and rubber ducky at your local Right Aide. Call mommy too, she always made me feel better when I needed a tummy rub

I hope you feel better soon, and don't forget to change your diapers (they're starting to stink up the board)

This is why it doesn't pay to pander to the extremes of either the left or the right. A large percentage of them just doesn't get anything. Moderates rule!

It isn't likely that John Kerry is going to follow through on any "effective" changes to border patrol. He is more likely to make a show of doing something about it, like throwing more money at it.

I think Bush is moving too slow on this, but he always seems to have a plan of some sort, and if he is taking it slow, it must mean that they are studying the problem to find the most effective implementation for a tighter patrol policy that won't find itself caught up in the courts because the ACLU thinks it is inhumane.
