You know who you are. You're the one posting stupid comments about what a loser Johnny is. You're the one getting on the political chat shows and telling everyone that you think Obama is super great and that he's going to win! Yeay! And your supposed to be a conservative. Why don't you shut up! I'm talking to all the whiners who piled on and joined the Chris Matthews bandwagon and declared Johnny an old man and a big dull loser. He did fine last night. He was the boss on foreign policy. He's never been a dazzling public speaker...

Just wondering what your opinion is about people who post vanities when their opinions could be posted to existing threads.

I came here in 1998 looking for conservative, logical, thoughtful conversation and debate on the things that matter to us the most. I was a Reagan Republican. One of those who had watched in horror as our embassy staff in Tehran was taken by fanatics. The answer should have been overwhelming force, but it was Carter, that limp-wristed, can’t-we-just talk-this-out, weakling who had made the military a shambles, and stripped it of its soul because of VietNam. I knew from the beginning that there was no room in this world for weakness and that was the beginning of my road...

Photolurking, blog streaking and cheesepodding: The new Internet addictions Tue Dec 19, 1:31 PM ET PARIS (AFP) - The Internet has given birth to a quirky range of modern addictions and maladies, the British weekly New Scientist says in its Christmas issue published this Saturday. They include these: - EGO-SURFING: When you frequently check your name and reputation on the Internet. - BLOG STREAKING: "Revealing secrets or personal information online which for everybody's sake would be best kept private." - CRACKBERRY: "The curse of the modern executive: not being able to stop checking your BlackBerry, even at your grandmother's funeral."...

I am traveling to Erie PA in the near future. I will be coming from eastern PA, westbound on Interstate 80. As I see it, I have two options: - stay on I-80 westbound until I reach I-79, then north on i-79 to Erie - exit I-80 near Clarion, drive northwest on US 322, then pick up I-79 at Meadville (essentially, I am driving the hypotenuse of a right triangle) The second option is shorter distancewise. However, is it likely to be shorter timewise as well? Will I run into lots of traffic lights? Thanks for any advice.

Brockworth, England (AHN) - An annual British cheese-rolling competition that entails chasing giant cheeses down a steep slope has resulted in twenty-five injured people, organizers say. A crowd of 3,000 spectators watched dozens of people take part in the event at Cooper's Hill in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, reports Yahoo! News. The 25 injuries, which include 12 injured spectators, occurred when participants chased the wheel-shaped Double Gloucester cheese in a 200-meter race down a slope. The winners of each of the five races were awarded with a big circle of cheese.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a brake line fail, no big deal in itself, but when the car was on the hoist, you could clearly see the carpeting coming through the rusted floorboard. One seat bolt had already rusted away and I figured that someday soon I may wind up sitting on the street. On top of that, the driver's side door was getting real hard to close so I thought I better get something before the door falls off. So I started looking: one Camaro was a real dog, one was great but expensive, and there was...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. he will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isnt always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (dont spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting stategies (adults, not kids, are...

The producers of "Get Rich or Die Tryin" are trying to figure out why fans are not flocking to their movie. Is it price of the ticket? Is it the publicity of a person getting shot at a showing? Is it because 50cent really has now fans? I have the answer. Teens are finally embracing parental values and this movie offers none of it! Thank you.

I am a fan of Limbaugh's but I think the soldiers don't need a 24/7 subscription. I think Limbaugh would've been a real mensch if he had just endorsed a standard Adopt- A - Soldier program that provided them with the normal TLC-- food, shaving kits, etc. He didn't have to get his beak wet... I would've gladly participated in a standard program, the subscription thing is a missed opportunity that risks appearing self interested. I don't care if a bonehead from Rio Linda gave him the idea.

Just my take We should hate Perot more each day. As we all know Bush would have won in 1992 had it not been for Perot. Aside from the horrible presidency of Clinton, he reshaped politics. Clintons win allowed the Democrats to solidify some blue states allowed the Dems to make some states blue. For example NJ, CA, IL, WA, OR were all Republican states until Clinton. Even areas in NY like Westchester and Long Island were all Republican but have become dem because of Clinton. Clintons presidency took away some states from us and we can all point our...

On O'Reilly tonight, they wree talking about the BTK killer. He was described as a sociopath, someone who has no concern for anyone but himself, a person capable of doing harm with no remorse at all. By that standards, aren't most politicians sociopaths?

I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store. I was so ticked off by the time I left, I had sweat rolling down my face. First of all, (and I'm not knocking stay at home mom's) but is the noon hour the ONLY hour in the day that they can schedule hauling their screaming bawling children to the grocery store???? I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on...

I know we like to post news stories on this board and go OMG OMG OMG teh udder side teh suXorZ!!11! It's rare that anyone really writes anything somewhat original so, here, I'll do something like that. I'm amazed at some of the twists that are going on in political and legal life right now. So much so that I really think it's worth commenting on. In some ways, we're going in the absolute wrong direction. Now before you get a knee jerk reaction and say i'm a "traitor" or some DUmmie here to quiety say "It's because of Bu$hco...

Dear Mr. President: We write because of troubling revelations in the Sunday London Times apparently confirming that the United States and Great Britain had secretly agreed to attack Iraq in the summer of 2002, well before the invasion and before you even sought Congressional authority to engage in military action. While various individuals have asserted this to be the case before, including Paul O'Neill, former U.S. Treasury Secretary, and Richard Clarke, a former National Security Council official, they have been previously dismissed by your Administration. However, when this story was divulged last weekend, Prime Minister Blair's representative claimed the document...

Saying that the Joint Chiefs and combatant commanders “strongly support” ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), General Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has stated that the measure “ensures the ability of the US Armed Forces to operate freely across the vast expanse of the world’s oceans under the authority of widely recognized and accepted international law.” [1] But would our military leaders support the treaty if they knew that the activists behind it were also instrumental in promoting the International Criminal Court (ICC), which could prosecute and imprison American troops and military...

I am a US citizen & my British husband is a lawful, DOCUMENTED, permanent resident (he has to wait another 17 months before he can become a citizen). Hey, you suckups to the twice selected Idiot in chief. Let me make a suggestion. Why don't you give the ultimate sacrifice to your Supreme Court/Diebold selected dunce? Why don't you sign up to go to Iraq and die for him? Your efforts won't go unappreciated either. I'll be sure and nominate all who do for Darwin awards.

I do not understand why people are even debating the proposed National I.D. card! Folks, this is incrementalism at its best. First, the National I.D. Then, with the surge of biometrics, the implanted chip. Please tell me you see the connection. When people are sick of losing their cards or the privacy issue becomes too much of a problem, the implantable chip will be implimented. This has little to do with security. It has everything to do with control! Have we forgotten what Free Society means? Folks, the people that passed the Patriot Act, wrote Patriot Act II and at...

To the editor: Proponents of a moose hunting bill that died in the House last week ("Beacon Hill Roll Call: Moose Hunting (H 4986)") claim that it is necessary for stabilizing the population and preventing car-moose collisions. However, research in other states has shown that a moose hunt will not stop the moose population from growing nor significantly reduce the number of moose/car collisions. The state of Maine, which celebrates its large moose population, has two hunting seasons for moose, yet the population continues to grow. Public officials in Maine have studied a myriad ways to reduce the incidence of...

<p>We hope Secretary of State Colin Powell was privately embarrassed when, two days into a catastrophic disaster that hit 12 of the world's poorer countries and will cost billions of dollars to meliorate, he held a press conference to say that America, the world's richest nation, would contribute $15 million. That's less than half of what Republicans plan to spend on the Bush inaugural festivities.</p>

With a quick glance, it looks just like any other pedestrian crossing sign -- a yellow, diamond-shaped sign with a person walking. But a long stare at the sign and there's something strange -- a Hula-Hoop around the pedestrian's body. Across the country -- and now Chicago -- these unusual pedestrian crossing signs are popping up and leaving people scratching their heads as to who left them and what they mean. The signs have also appeared in New York, Washington, D.C., and even Utah's Arches National Park. "I figured it was done as a joke," said Paul Puskar, who lives...

Let's see if we've got this straight: Showing Nicollette Sheridan in a pregame promotion for "Monday Night Football" wearing nothing but a towel? Bad. Showing the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders repeatedly during the game, all 38 of them dressed in costumes that, sewn together, still wouldn't be enough material for a decent towel? Good. Listening to ABC fake an apology and watching the NFL recoil in mock horror because somebody forgot the difference between league-sanctioned "cheesecake" and the unsanctioned variety? Priceless.

As a New Hampshire guy and a Bush supporter, I feel confident today. Americans have to see through Kerry. He's a fake! The middle class is so far below this guy. For him to try and relate to them is a joke. Thereeza would never let him socializie with those people. "W" will win NH. Do not worry. I think I picked the right day to join my fellow republicans.

TO: Republican National Committee Cc: Butler Co. Republican party Ohio Republican Party George W. Bush Subject: Sitting this one out As a conservative, I have become increasingly disappointed at the leftward drift of the Republican Party under the leadership of George W. Bush. His monetary and immigration policies are prime examples. I have come to the conclusion that he is, quite simply, unacceptable. Furthermore, the overall position of the Republican Party is too far to the left to suit me. The argument that "the other guy is worse" is invalid. There is now such an indiscernible difference between the Republican...

<p>It's getting chippy along the gubernatorial campaign trail. Nothing really nasty, just aggressive elbowing.</p>
<p>U.S. Rep. David Bonior, who went into an attack mode early in the campaign, was the target of weekend jabs from contenders from both parties. Republican state Sen. Joe Schwarz branded Bonior "a socialist." Ex-Gov. Jim Blanchard, a fellow Democrat, called him a far-left "Nader Democrat."</p>

Nation: Hundreds in Michigan march in support of PalestiniansBy SARAH FREEMAN, Associated PressDEARBORN, Mich. (April 1, 2002 8:20 p.m. EST) - Hundreds of people carrying Palestinian and U.S. flags marched in Michigan on Monday to protest the recent wave of Israeli military action in the Middle East. Signs and banners proclaimed Palestinian freedom and urged the United States to support an Israeli withdrawal. Some simply urged an end to violence, while others compared the Sept. 11 attacks to "every day in Palestine." Meanwhile, hundreds of members of the Detroit-area Jewish community gathered at a synagogue about 15 miles away in...

Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! Are People banned from this site? Are opposing views not welcomed? Why, YES.....Over the past 5-6 years I have had to change my log-in several times..Due to a "Banning". I have received over 132 e-mails from "Freepers" that were also banned. I enjoy reading most of the postings...I start my morning on this site. But I have learned not to reply or post any opposing views...until now. I'm sure this posting will vanish and once again I will be "banned". Until another screen name my friends.

On the "new posts to you" it takes all day to load the page because of all of the graphics. Can't you just list the topics???
-
I think we can make posting much easier and enjoyable if people would better back up their posts with keywords. For example, if you post an article on President Bush, add a keyword called "President Bush". This would make a simple search for posts much easier when considering if a certain topic has already been posted, and give the moderators a little more free time :)

<p>Twelve-year-old Lindsey Duffield of Browns Valley, Minn., loves horses, and Saturday morning -- the opening of deer season -- she was riding one of her favorites, a white 9-year-old mare named Princess.</p>
<p>Striding along the driveway of her grandfather's farm on the edge of town, Lindsey and Princess trailed behind them a dark bay gelding, its halter fixed to a lead rope that Lindsey was holding. Lindsey and the two horses were traveling toward her parents' farm a short distance away.</p>

This is a test of the institutional memory of FReeperdom. My query is first about the tasty canned meat, but also to learn if the current common slang regarding undesirable e-mail is in anyway related, or if that term has it's own independent basis in origination.
