I wish they would stop referring to GWB as "this president". Sounds focus-grouped.

I havent said much but my final duty station in the Navy was base master at arms in Vallejo Calif. The time frame was June tru Oct 1969. This was the training base for PBR's and Swifts (brown water navy).I more than likely had some of these enlisted men in my baracks. I just dont remember any of the names. They were all very good guys. The death rate of these men was very high.

MSNBC is asking for comments about their question of the day seen at www.question.msnbc concerning the candidates' military records. Go vote and leave your opinion. Here's what I wrote:

First, Mr. Kerry is the one constantly referring to his military record and never referring to his Senate record as what will qualify him to lead our country. Second, the Swift Boat Vets, who are NOT connected to the Bush/Cheney campaign, have every right to the freedom of speech that John Kerry had when he returned from his 4 month stint in Vietnam. I think it's about time we heard from the vets that Mr. Kerry slandered 35 years ago. I believe, from the research I've done that they are sincere, honorable men who cannot be paid off. Third, Mr. Kerry's and Mr. Edward's "demand" that the President remove the Swift Boat Vets' ad from TV is simply ridiculous. Mr. Bush has at least on one occasion affirmed publicly the honor of Kerry for having served in Vietnam and has distanced himself from the Swift Boat vets although he recognizes their right to free speech. One surefire way to determine who's lying???--- it's usually the one who attacks the motives of the opponent rather than debating the issues the opponent raises. This is what I see John Kerry do time after time.

If this is accurate, Bob "Purple-Faced Rage" Scheiifer has had them on twice in as many weeks! C-BIAS-S!

Maybe he wants his own little personal deer in the headlights moment with the older daughter.

O'Neill can just challenge Rood to a one on one debate. O'Neill can refute Rood's account where he sees inconsistencies and once that's done, O'Neill can just challenge Rood's mouthpiece as to why Rood isn't courageous or confident enough to publicly debate the accounts.

I respectfully suggest that you are missing the point. O'Neill will AGREE with Rood, on the point that there was not a numerically superior enemy, nor was there intense enemy fire, when Kerry turned to beach his boat. With regard to the details surrounding the single VC, O'Neill will say the details matter not, the material point of contention is the numerically superior enemy, and on that point Rood and the Swiftees are in perfect harmony.

That is so much more effective, and pleasant, than attacking Rood. Plus, it is accurate!

But, but, but...Rood wasn't in the boat with Kerry, so he's not credible. Isn't that what they said before when the other Swifties tried to tell their version. (end/sarcasm)

Fox: Wallace is really questioning Hurley about Kerry/Cambodia. Hurley: John Kerry WAS in Cambodia on a different night, came under fire 3 times, no signs saying welcome to Cambodia, etc. Records? No, I have Kerry's word. HAHA

He seems to be a rather reluctant darling. I wonder why he won't stand up to O'Neill himself. I can't help but get the sense that Rood's arm was getting some serious twisting.

I agree, and give Rood a complete pass, on reflection. See my #68.

Geezuz, O'Neill is fighting against Stephonopholus and Podesta. He is holding his own as usual, but it sure is hard to watch.

He is knocking them idiots down bigtime.
