Hi, I am a life-long republican from Iowa, and am very concerned with the direction the Republican party is going. As a man of faith, I am very skeptical that George Bush holds the same faiths I do, I feel he politicizes it FAR too much. I hope this is a true and open dialogue so that we may keep to our values and keep the good in office. I want my two children to grow up in a country with real Republican values, many of which reflect the Christian household I was brought up in. I was also taught there MUST be a separation of church and state, a small government, and compassion for fellow man are necessary. I want to live in a country where I can speak my mind about the issues that matter to me without fear.
Some of the things I am concerned with are: What is Cheney saying Go **** Yourself to other national politicians?? And making money through Haliburton off of the war? He thus Breaks the commandment Thou shalt not steal. See: http://www.voanews.com/article.cfm?objectID=E6171DC3-72C4-45CA-A8F32792A426EFAA

I do not think that increasing the national debt by $445 billion! dollars is very conservative, I myself have no debt and was raised to never ever go in debt. My kids are inheriting a massive debt from my generation that their kids just may be paying on too!
Now that it proven there were no weapons of mass destruction, didnt President Bush break the commandment Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor?
Going to war breaks the commandment Thou shalt not kill. My family has fought in every American war since the Civil War. War is SOMETIMES justified obviously, but violence begets violence. Even more ~ not supporting our troops properly, putting them in harm's way needlessly, cutting their pay and screwing with Veterans Benefits.
I have several friends who have traveled abroad this summer and everywhere they went people were enraged by the actions of our government, I want to live in a world where my children can travel abroad at will peacefully.
And to quote a fellow blog poster: "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing." Take that, hand-wringing liberals!
So, I guess I am asking any fellow citizens what they think, any suggestions?? Where has our party gone? The other option looks better everyday!
Thanks, Mark
LOL!!
Some of the train cars, it's a miracle anyone can smell the unwashed hippy protestors on them over the lingering stench from the floors/corners.
(Unless Metro-North has decied to actually CLEAN some of them on the lines that frequent my area..)
So the m,ental image of your humorous post is quite hysterical.
The worst part of the whole ride was the bathroom doors that wouldn't stay shut...hard to figure out which smell was worse...
...it was a sacrifice I made for my fellow democrats...one I take seriesly, a hugh one, stuned my beeber badly, so much so, I quickly jumped in the shower when I got home!!
Best seat I've had to a ZOT.
But I think I smell burning waste.

[Careful, I know you're joking about Democrat status.. others may not.]
Gotta love Metro North's ideas on clean, fast, and efficient rides.

I might need cliff notes but thanks for the link. I also cannot figure out how to attach pics within posts.
Don't worry about Cliff notes version.
It's all in there on the Moderator's page.
(Which, in and off itself is entertaining to read)
""I have several friends who have traveled abroad this summer and everywhere they went people were enraged by the actions of our government, I want to live in a world where my children can travel abroad at will peacefully"".
I have traveled Europe in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. We have been hated in France, and in several other Socialist countries, since the early 70's. Jealousy is at the heart of this hate.
The reason that we Americans could travel safely throughout the world after WWII was not that we were liked, but that we were feared and respected. I don't care if anyone "likes" us, but I do want everyone to respect us (and a healthy dose of fear will gain that respect)!

"Would you believe?? ....."
"No, Max. We wouldn't!"
Lol..
OK, so you're probably not even still around and thus you won't see this, but this ridiculous statement in your idiotic rant deserves rebuttal. I'm sure this simple mathematical/logical expression is far beyond your mental grasp, but here it is:
Absence of proof DOES NOT EQUAL proof of absence.
