~ MONDAY FAVORITES ~
This week: What is your favorite candy or sweets?

In our continuing series about your favorites, we ask this week about candy. What is your favorite candy? Do you have a candy preference? Do you have a particular sweet tooth for a certain sugar fix that you would like to share? Perhaps you have a childhood favorite that your grandmother or mom made.  Share with everyone on the thread about your favorite candy/sweets. If you have a picture, then post it for all of us to enjoy. As always, you can share with us via FReepmail or email (canteenusa@canteenusa.com).

He is cute, isn't he? LOL! Since you worked Saturday, do you get Monday off, or are you back on the road? When do you tackle the big needle? And look what I found for the Atkins folks...

I forgot to set my alarm to remind me to watch the CSpan replay of the Vietnam Vets event from Sunday. ... It's still on, so I'm at least seeing more than I did earlier.

I didn't get in on the live thread until it was almost over, too. Old habits are hard to break, I guess. I lurked for so many years, I used to read those threads after the fact, so I seldom think to look for one -- although I did actually participate in a couple of them LIVE during the Republican Convention. ;)

Yes, he just finished.

This is where I came in earlier today. Donna Rowe's story is a tear-jerker! And she's determined. ("My father was a REAL Irishman ... and I served 369 days!") ;)

For Vietnam nurse Donna Rowe, it was a moment she could only describe as surreal. Thirty-five years later here was this baby in her arms, this baby who looked so much like that other baby that “just like that,” she says with a snap of her fingers, “I was back."

Meet Katie Rose Epps, our “Shadow Baby.” Katie Rose is “Baby Kathleen’s” youngest child, born after her mother’s reunion with her Vietnam godparents and named in honor of her Third Field Hospital godmother. “Just look at this!” Donna [Rowe] cries, pointing at Kathleen’s three older girls, who are running through her home. “My grand-God-babies are here!” She’s not the only one with joyful tears in her eyes.

Great cartoon!

William Safire acknowledges FR's role in helping uncover that fraud in his NY Times (of all places!) column. Thread is here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1214345/posts .
