I was doing work with computer typesetting technology in 1972 (it actually started in late 1969), and I personally created one of the earliest typesetting programs for what later became laser printers, personally created computer fonts, and helped create programs that created computer fonts." Newcomer First off, before I start getting a lot of the wrong kind of mail: I am not a fan of George Bush. But I am even less a fan of attempts to commit fraud, and particularly by a complete and utter failure of those we entrust to ensure that if the news is at least accurate. I know it is asking far too much to expect the news to be unbiased. But the people involved should not actually lie to us, or promulgate lies created by hoaxers, through their own incompetence.... Sorry, I'm a newbie poster and didn't see all the previous threads
I wonder how Dan Blather likes his crow, fried, or baked?
you have to remember that Dan Rather has a 6TH sense about these things. (he sees memos from dead people)

RE: Attempted Bush Smear Job on Sixty Minutes II
Dear Mr. Heyward:
Now that your CBS News division has elected to allow Mr. Rather to take the approach that the story was correct and that you are standing by it, you have essentially allowed him to double the bet while continuing to hold a losing hand.
Without strong leadership from someone at the top, like you, to remove Mr. Rather from his position, your network is going to lose every bit of credibility that you worked for half a century to build up.
Is one mans maniacal obsession to bring down a sitting President, no matter the cost, worth the reputation of your entire network news division?
The sooner you act, the less the damage which is already substantial. Draft the letter and fire this discredited partisan journalist.
Sincerely,
Rob XXXXX
Come on Matt, show us what you got!
Y'all sure this guy knows what he's talking about?
========================================================================
This idiot needs to take his head out of the computer for a few minutes and smell the flowers!
"But the people involved should not actually lie to us, or promulgate lies created by hoaxers, through their own incompetence."??
What if "the people involved" are the enemies of the state? Is it okay then?
Incompetence my butt!
Rob, do you mind if I send this post to my local talk show here in Augusta? That would be Austin Rhodes of WGAC 580 AM.
I am not a fan of George Bush.
This statement right here negates any intelligence in this article.
Oh, how I'd love to see them grilled for their perpetration of all these lies, too.
Idiots.
May Mapes will be fired.
Blather will resign.
Just about 5 years ago, CNN withdrew the "Tailwind" story...the paid the producer and reporter millions to just go away..
No, it doesn't. It's one of the most detailed, devastating studies of the memos I've seen yet.
