Here in the LA Times report above:
The network's new reporting will be wrapped up soon, perhaps this weekend or early next week, Howard said. More sources have come forward in recent days, and CBS is leaning on its original sources to see if they will go on the record, he added.
In the Washington Post:
In a related development, White House press secretary Scott McClellan hinted that more documents regarding Bush's National Guard service may soon be released. Asked whether officials in the White House have seen unreleased documents, McClellan called that "a very real possibility." Other officials with knowledge of the situation said more documents had indeed been uncovered and would be released in the coming days.
In Jim Geraghty's Kerry Spot
PIERCE TELLS REPORTER CBS GAVE HIM 'LOTS MORE DOCUMENTS' [09/17 08:58 AM] Just exchanged emails with Garry Moon, columnist for the Athens, Ga. Banner-Herald. He shared a stunning bit of news with me, and said he wanted Kerry Spot readers to know, since he doesnt know when his column is going to run in the Banner-Herald. Moon managed to contact James J. Pierce, the fourth expert that CBS has cited as one of its experts verifying its documents.
--snip
- The (for me) stunner: Pierce said that the reason he hadn't rendered a final conclusion yet was that he was only midway through his analysis of all the documents - speaking as though there were many docs. CBS gave you other documents besides the four that 60 Minutes used in the story? Lots more documents were his exact words.
They might be released, but no one's going to be paying any attention to them. CBS has cooked this goose.
Yes....Mary Mapes told a local conservative talk show host this week that CBS would have MORE documents coming too. We shall see.
The "Little Boy Who Cried Wolf" has just sung TAP'S. Sheephearder Dan is kapoot.

I wonder if they are better forgeries than the others?
right when the new docs come out, the discussion will be wether they're genuine or fakes...
'bout then, some awfully damning stuff on Kerry will come out.
just you wait and see...
If they aren't original un-retouched papers, NO ONE will believe them now.
If they think they can put out a bunch of photocopied documents now, they ARE fools.
Yep, we'll be reporting on them as soon as they get back from the printers.
Suspicious timing, doncha know????
I care about this much () about Bush's Guard days.
Guess the media is fixated on this. The public isn't.
If at first you don't succeed . . . .
CBS would play its best cards. The followup cards are throw away trump.
Bet on it. Dan Rather had the winning bid on that typewriter on eBay.
Looks like Bill "Panama Jack" Burkett has been busy reconstructing fake-but-accurate documents for months, if not years. (Hope Kinkos has fire insurance.)
Even if they are, why should we believe anything See BS puts out? As far as I know, after this recent fiasco with the phony documents they've already released, they've hired professional forgerers to get old paper, type stuff out on a TANG typewriter from 1972, and have the wording reviewed for accuracy by a then member of the TANG.
Once I'm lied to, I have a really hard time believing anything the liar says again. Sorry, See BS, you had your chance and you blew it. Go away, no one will believe a word you say.
I think it is a stall tatic, saying they can not release their sources as they are still investigating "other docuemnts" and then they will pat themselves on the back for not runnning the other fake documents.
But I thought it had been established:
Commanders do not ORDER anyone to take a physical (so Bush didn't ignore an order)
Physicals had to be taken before your birthday (Bush was out of the Guard by his next birthday)
Even with a revoked flight status, Bush would still have been an officer is good standing.
Bush served more than enough time to qualify for an Honorable Discharge.
They are probably busy retyping them on IBM selectrics they've purchased on ebay.
No amount of popcorn and soda pop will work for that one.
Even idiots will only watch a re-run but so many times.
But, hey ... it's their party.
The fake but accurate story is a crock. But this next set has to be intended to be used after the Whitehouse issued some sort of denial which never came because FReepers climbed all over this before that next step could occur. I have thought of this as a machine where the wheels are coming off.. but they keep pouring the power to it.
Kind of reminds me of the scene in the Battle of the Bulge where the German General is trying to drive his tank up the hill to capture the fuel dump as barrels of gasoline roll down the hill toward him. With music blaring and all.
Just think of what it would be like if these were competent forgeries? or at least seemingly? What if they did produce documents that seemed authentic now? We have to come up with a list of 60 problems to be taken seriously. What if the next time there are only one or two? It sucks when you can't trust the news.
