What's up with FR today? I get a lot of "Temporarily Unavailable" and time-outs, and the post list is hours old.
Is this...............an attack?
Or just a lousy connection?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm............?????
(Disclaimer: No moose or cheese was harmed in the production of this vanity).
FR Note: We are installing three additional servers this weekend, plus upgrading all of our sytems software. We were hoping for a smooth installation, but, unfortunately, Mr. Murphy decided to participate. Sorry about that.

Yup.
Lord, God, IF IT'S AT ALL WITHIN YOUR WILL AND PLANS, PLEASE
cause it to happen such that the puppet masters and Jihadi's behind so much scheming and devastation--will themselves have their greatest treasures and plans most devastated by the consequences of their own orders and actions. Fosterize as many of them as would be fitting at this time, according to your will--Your Word talks of the evil ones falling in their own pit. May it be so, oh, Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
May any in agreement pray similarly.

"Are they installing the new autotrollzot 1.0?" What? And spoil all our fun? Wish they could build in some kind of target shooting game. It would make the troll hunts a little more challenging. The first alerts to the mods would activate the system if it was found to be a troll. Have a built in scorekeeper and troll life status. Give us all a chance to stun, wound, fry and vaporize. Score FReep points good for FReepstuff. Include entertaining sound effects.

Jim / John;
Now that we've stopped in for more dilithium crystals at Rigel 9, I'm certain the enterprise will be better off.
It's been tough holding her together though. I didn't know how much more she could take Jim.
The crew was getting restless. The ambassadors of conservatism, seeking more amenities.
The sick bay was overloaded with bellyaches and headaches. McCoy was about ready to break out the Romulen Ale.
Thank the creater for this short shore leave.
I don't know if it was just me Jim, but it seemed we were dealing with an increased number of Klingons.
Then there is the Federation's elections coming in November. That was playing heavily on my mind.
After this little breather, we should be refreshed and more able to keep the peace in our and neighboring sectors.
Thank heaven Spock is on our side. It's just illogical to think that Senator Surrender and the Silky Pony might win in November.
She's a bonnie lass Jim. Treat her well.

120 posts and nobody has questioned the timing of this server upgrade. I'm surprised.

I'm stuck at work for twelve hours and ended up reading about carnivorous plant care until FR came back up.
Lucky I'm a patient fella!

Just got the word from John that we may be down for several hours later tonight. Could be as many as 8 hours of downtime coming our way. He's hoping to have it all up and running before tomorrow morning. It's turning out to be a way bigger job than originally anticipated (that's Murphy and his sidekick corollaries kicking in).
To: Loyalist
Well, I, for one, suspect the timing is suspiciously suspicious.
To: JeanS
Thanks for the link, Jean.
I'm not quite sure how I missed that thread.
I'm usually pretty good a spotting stuff like that.
Didn't we used to have those kind of anouncements placed in the banner of the "latest posts" page??? (Sometimes if not always.)

I think a vanity thread asking "What Do You Do While FR is Down?" would be hilarious!
