A movie whose purpose is to prove that Jesus Christ never existed and that demonizes Christian fundamentalists is scheduled to open on June 6, 2006 – that is, 06-06-06, the "666" biblical mark of the Beast.

He believes in the devil but not Jesus? He takes the devil from biblical scriptures, yet, Jesus doesn't exist. What a joke.

Bingo!

A perfect answer to the mindless thinking that goes on with some of these people.

Moshiach will show how facts, i.e. evidence, replicable science and objective truths AND faith are actually completely in harmony with each other. He will, when the people are ready to listen, prove the existence of a higher force and prove how the world and humankind can be perfected resulting in a literal Ganeden.

Let's get off the historians for a moment. The historians were in Rome and at best, if at all, they heard about these things through rumors and were not exactly inclined to make the dangerous and lengthy voyage to a backwater part of the empire to get the whole story. Tiny rumors of far away events such as would have been present in Rome are not the material of history, nor are they considered particularly important "influential events".

It might be far relevant to consider another question. It was not long after the birth of the Christian faith that it began to be persecuted throughout the region and, later, the Empire. If I am not mistaken, the book of Matthew was in existence at the time, as it is generally accepted to have been written at an early date (circa 60 AD?). Of the accusations that were brought up against Christians, among which they are accused of cannibalism and atheism, why are they not accused of making up stories regarding the tearing of the veil, the giant earthquake, and the raising of the dead?

Certainly records would be filled with accusations, particularly by people who lived in Jerusalem at the time the supposed events occured who knew they didn't occur.

Or will you argue that this verse was a later addition? I am not aware of its absence in the earliest manuscripts.

Thank you for your reply. Every time I ask this kind of question to a priest, I get similar answer, we don't understand every thing that God does.

However, it seems to me that it could be more efficient to have undisputed long lasting appearance that is capable of speaking to us in our languages all over the earth? For get that shadowy thing, and the nonspeaking crying virgin thing.

"The authors of the Gospels, writing 40 to 90 years after the supposed life of Christ, never intended for their works to be read as biographies. There are no credible non-Christian references to Christ during the period in which he is said to have lived," states the film's site.

Poor subverted mind. The only gospel claimed to be written as late as 90AD is the Gospel of John. Luke was written within the lifetime of the contemporaries of Jesus, even before Paul was executed.
