Posted on 10/17/2004 7:04:11 AM PDT by woodb01

Zogby has an online poll for those interested in presenting their opinions about the election.

Here is the Zogby web site:

http://www.zogby.com/

And here is the direct link to the poll

http://interactive.zogby.com/battleground/indexweb.cfm

It is a pretty thorough poll so it takes about 5 - 10 minutes.

If I have to choose between the Tin Man and The Scarecrow for President, I'm not going to take it.

That was a question that appeared on the last Zogby poll I took.

The dems will only BOT it, I am no longer freeping any on line polls. I want them to show up as 90% dem and 0-10% repub to show how inaccurate they are.

Zogby sent me his poll this Wednesday. You can check neither for the Tin Man Scrarecrow question. I did.

John Zogby told the New Yorker magazine that his polling group asked people a few weeks ago to imagine they were living in Oz and had to choose between the Scarecrow, all heart and no brains, and the Tin Man, all brains and no heart. The Tin Man came out 10 points ahead. In 2000, they were neck-and-neck.

So, as for Tin Man/Scarecrow, who is Bush and who is Kerry? A case can be made for either way.

VERY GOOD QUESTION, THAT IS WHY I CHECKED NONE OF THE ABOVE.

they didn't include the 'scarecrow' question, but they continue with the 'wrong direction, right direction' question - I have e-mailed them several times to either drop that question or expand upon it -

e.g., we support the President, but might believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction with the MSM liberal corruption of all communications, Hollywood, etc...

to show support for the President, I guess we have to answer that question with a 'right direction'...

only problem letting them bot it, is like this week, the dems keep proclaiming that they 'won' all three debates - there are some dummies who would change their vote, hearing that constantly...

Freeped, and it is an excellent poll, I did refuse to answer questions on ethniticity, and some on religion.

I read the analysis in the download for the previous poll after filling out these questions. I swear that Zogby is dreaming of being an editorial writer. He totally colors his analysis with his innuendos and lame opinions of Bush, IMHO.

I downloaded the result printout from the poll and noticed something interesting (I was paying attention only to the "undecided column"). The undecideds aren't terribly excited w/ Bush, BUT....THEY DO NOT LIKE JOHN KERRY!!!

One other thing I found peciliar, under religious affiliation, there were only a handful of elements in there, one of which was Mormon (I used to attend that church). I'm not sure why Zogby put that church in partciular in there. I can say this, the Mormon church, even in today's increasingly progressive society, does not bend when it comes to the do's and dont's of how to live.
Also, the church is predominantly Republican. Lastly, I can't confirm this, but I've been told that being a Mormon is a "plus" if you're looking for a job in the Federal Government that involves some element of sensitivity/secrecy (Intelligence, etc).

Anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

Zogby has Kerry winning the election as of October 7th, with 278 electoral votes.
