A lot of older Academy voters, who are largely Jewish, refuse to even see this movie.

Hmm I don't want to tell them how to do their job or anything but....isn't it their job to view movies???

To the tune of You give love a Bad Name (Bon Jovi)

Oy Veh,

The Shame, the Shame,

You give Jews a bad name.

Those are man's laws and they're not eternal.

Making it a "right" don't necessarily make it -right-.

They didn't exactly care for Him and His Teachings.

You're so right - history repeats itself. Amazing!

Who watches the Oscars anymore?

Their ratings get lower every year.

I was under the impression that "Fahrenheit 9/11" is ineligible for Oscar consideration because it was released on DVD so quickly. Am I wrong?

As for "The Passion" -- name any other movie that sold almost $400 million in tickets that is told entirely in Aramaic and Latin? How many other movies this year inspired criminals to confess their crimes and to their time? If that isn't the sign of a good and powerful movie, I don't know what is...

Notice, no mention of merit.

What a vaccous place. They'll look like the Christian-hating phonies that they are.

TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE has no chance of being nominated either. It trashes Hollywood movies, liberal celebs & everything else....and it is the funniest movie I have seen all year. Up until yetserday, Dodgeball was my favorite comedy of the year.

Think if that sentence was turned around. "A lot of voters are christian, and won't watch a movie on a Jewish theme." That would be antisemtism. But the anti-Christian hate and bigotry of Jewish liberals in Hollywood somehow gets a pass.

"why dont we all just start a boycott of the Oscars...... take down their ratings.... send it to the floor....."

Why bother boycotting the Oscars. Boycott Hollywood period.

Don't enrich them with your money.

I have seen The Passion, Storm Ship Troopers and Independence day. The only movies I have paid for at a theater in 15 years.

Holly Wierd can go frunk itself in my humble opinion.

"If John Kerry wins, 'Fahrenheit' gets nominated," says one exec. "Then it becomes 'the movie that changed the course of American history...

Nice to know how these "artistic" decisions are made.

I've been boycotting the Oscars since they gave the award to American Beauty. I understand there's a new film in the works that's supposed to give people a warm and fuzzy feeling about pedophiles---starring Kevin Bacon. I intend to picket the theater when it's screened.

But,says one Academy member, "If Kerry loses, it gets nominated as a big 'f--- you' to Bush."

Big deal. If Bush is re-elected, any "big f--- you" from Hollywood to Bush will never match the American people's 'big f--- you' to Hollywood.

I wish someone would get up on stage and just ask them all, on live television: "How many homeless, sick kids, and elderly you could make better lives for with what you are spending on gowns, tuxedos, jewelry, parties, limos, etc. for just one night?"

Yeah, or do like Rush Limbaugh used to do on his TV program.

He would wear every possible color of ribbon and rub their noses in the hypocracy of it all by claiming to be superior in morality to any of them because he had more ribbons than they did.

BEFORE

and after. (emphatic enough?) and have final exam revolve around it!

suggestions from a former teacher & movie fanatic (and friend)

I can see Moore getting a nomination for Nonfiction's Documentary. What, no category ? well, make one.

I will continue to enjoy movies.(okay, I am a hopeless addict) I don't go to movie stars for medical, relational OR political advice. I go to be entertained. But for personal reasons I boycott: Loreal hair products, French Wine & ANYTHING Michael Moore. He reminds me of Java from Star Wars

I can see for Passion Best Pix & Best Actor (for Jim C) awards...special effects were good but wont compete with LOTR & Harry Potter.
