How many times should we allow Specter to betray us? And as far as what the liberal media will say, screw them. Disloyalty and betrayal should not be rewarded.
Exactly. If we think it's a challenge to deny him the chair, think of the problems we'd have trying to remove him, after he's had a chance to dice up a few good nominees.
We're better off putting someone in the chair that shares our party's beliefs. Who cares what the dem's will say? The voters have spoken, and now is not the time to "go light" on our agenda.
Arlen, thanks for coming into this private meeting. You have to resign. Immediately. We have this on you [something secret, or something he really wants]. And we gave you a chance, but you pooch-screwed us, and we're not having it.
And that's just one way.
Used to have a teacher that would pick out an unruly boy at the beginning of every school year and find an excuse to slap the snot out of them (happened to be me once). The result was, while it indeed ticked me off considerably, everyone else sat up, took notice and behaved the rest of the year.
"How many times should we allow Specter to betray us?"
Ever wonder how many times the democrats said that about Zell Miller?
Sorry, we did not fight and win this election to give in to the liberals. From now on, they are the ones fighting for a voice. We will stand our ground. Specter is history in the Republican Party (and so is anyone else who can't stand up to the plate and vote for W's agenda!)
If we don't hang together.............
How does that help get nominees through the Senate?
The W I know would NEVER make a deal with a weasel like Specter. Think about it.
The math is simple... the Senate GOP Caucus is full of RINOs... more than the 5 vote margin Republicans now enjoy. If Specter doesn't play ball, the other RINOs won't either, and the nominee won't pass. This doesn't even take into account Rat filibusters.
Now if the Rats attempt to filibuster, claiming Bush nominated an extremist, Specter will have the credibility to say "He's no extremist."
But if we take him out now, here is the headline ... Red State Pro-Lifers Force Removal of Republican SenatorHere's the headline:
I say nip it in the bud....I am sick and tired of these so called republicans kowtowing to the dems....I say "F"m
We need to be ruthless with these jokers. We need a political human sacrifice once in a while to keep everyone else in line. We can hang his dead political career's carcass on the wall of the Senate cloakroom as a reminder to any others who want to step as far out of line as he has. Fear is an excellent motivator and the Republicans in the Senate need to grow a spine. This will stiffen some of them right up.
Perhaps the GOP's essence could be purified by pushing Specter, Snowe, Chaffe, McCain and Collins into the Democrat Party. Then the Conservatives would be able to whine without having to govern.
Yeah, like that is gonna work.
We are being prepared for a royal screwing.
And the story will be...
...irrelevant. The MSM is now completely irrelevant. Let them say whatever the hell they want. Red State America has tuned them out completely.
Time to send Arlen to the retirement home (which would have happened in April in the GOP had stayed out of the PA primary).
If you embarrass him (mortify him, really) by publicly beating him down and out of a position that is rightfully his by custom, you look intolerant and vengeful, and you start to take the word "inclusion" out of the Republican Party's vocabulary.
I'm betting he'll bend over backwards to be fair. And that's all we ask, isn't it?
No big loss if you ask me, he belongs on the other side anyway. He's less than worthless, and I really hate guys who defend murderers.
Sorry, but I think the unborn aren't worth sacrificing for fear of a bad headline.
Surely you think more of them than that.
