Aaron Brown's snide shot of the day. Upon pointing out a photo in Stars and Stripes of some soldiers in Iraq who had earned Purple Hearts, during his Wednesday night "Morning Papers" segment on CNN's NewsNight, Brown sarcastically remarked: "Some day, one of them will run for President and someone will say they didn't earn the Purple Heart. Welcome to America."
Brown began his November 10 look at the Thursday newspapers, a segment in which he holds up big veloxes of front pages: "Okay, time to do morning papers. I've been on an airplane today. I have no voice left. What is it about airplanes that does that? I don't know. Stars and Stripes starts it off: 'U.S. Troops Control Most of Fallujah,' the headline. 'U.S. Officials Believe Most Insurgents Have Fled the City.' Look at this picture here, if you can. 'Troops' Bravery Honored in Iraq.' These are all Purple Heart winners. Some day, one of them will run for President and someone will say they didn't earn the Purple Heart. Welcome to America."
The photo Brown showcased was of a row of soldiers. For the story with the picture: www.estripes.com
The caption: "Nine soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division's 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment received Purple Hearts Tuesday at Forward Operating Base MacKenzie, Iraq, for injuries received this year during Operation Iraqi Freedom."
To see the front page of the November Stars and Stripes, look for the European or Middle East editions which carried the photo: www.estripes.osd.mil
The MRC's Ken Shepherd used our DVR system to grab a still shot of Brown pointing to the photo and that will be placed in the posted version of this CyberAlert item.
Actually, Mr. Kerry filmed three hours of footage while in theatre to share with friends and family. They were disappointed that he was on the footage for a mere 15 seconds.
"They'd frag him."
One always has hope.
One well placed Mawashi-Geri to the temple...leave him for the buzzards.
Why don't you sign it, JFnK?
Kerry was surounded by a mix, mostly honset, hard-working, hard-fighting and honest guys -- but not all of them so. I would expect that to be the case today, with the caveat that in an all volunteer force, it is more difficult to find malcontents.
At the very least, he should have to switch spots with Jane Arraf -- she sounded like she was going to soil herself as she talked with Aaron Brown last night.
Aaron Brown - better hope some soldier doesn't come after him and smack some knots on his head.
I like that jab!
My E-mail to Aaron Brownpants was much, shall we say, stronger. I doubt the little cowardly girlie man will answer mine.
Brown's never got over the fact that he never lived up to his hype. He jumped to CNN at exactly the wrong time, just as it was about to begin its precipitous decline. Now he's become the poster boy for its poor ratings.
I wouldn't rate him that high.
I didn't know Mr. Brown knew Kerry's purple hearts are fake.
Lately I've learned how Goebbels succeeded and why Stalin called these people "useful idiots".
Just amazes me that these people have NEVER stopped to read history.
Oh, I think that's a good start. POS fits.
Also, I doubt any of our Marines in Iraq are pulling a rice kernal out of their ass and claiming Purple Heart rights as a result. What a POS Aaron Brown is. See, it fits.
I have lived in the Seattle area for over 30 years. Brown was a local news reader for many years prior to moving to MSNBC. He had a reputation in the local area as an egotistical poof as the Brits say.
CNN has as much relevance to our nation's political life, as Home Shopping Network.
The soldiers in Iraq tend to reinlist rather than cut & run after 3 1/2 months of combat and bandaid wounds. The veterans returning from Iraq after honorable service won't get spit on, like Kerry and his fellow traitors did to Vietnam Vets.
They have always questioned the heroics of Republicans. G.H.B. and Dole included.
The difference this election was that the questioning led to the realization Kerry's heroic status was nothing but a self advanced myth. Aaron is understandably bitter that they STILL lack a legitimate war hero that espouses liberal doctrine. Powell comes closest to their dream, and he chose to align himself with Republicans. LOL
