...snip...But the most troubling case of infiltration of the U.S. Army is that of Ali Mohammed, a sergeant who taught classes on the Middle East at the Special Operations Warfare School at Fort Bragg between the end of the 1980's and the mid 1990's. When he was not lecturing American soldiers on Islamic fundamentalism, Mohammed was one of Bin Laden's most trusted lieutenants, teaching terrorists the tactics he had learned at Fort Bragg in Al Qaeda's camps in Sudan and Afghanistan.....snip

Good morning folks. Dreary here in N.Va. this morning. Saw really bad traffic accident on the way in this morning. Judging by the number of police vehicles on the scene, it must have been a chase that ended badly. Car was in the woods, upside down, and looking like a piece of waded up tinfoil. Other than that, it's quiet.

Jan 17 keeps popping up. Worrisome. Keep alert and stay safe folks. I'm not liking the look of it.

City to discuss cause of blasts

By Tom Spalding
tom.spalding@indystar.com
January 14, 2005

The Indianapolis Fire Department plans a 2 p.m. news conference today to explain what the agency believes was responsible for a series of underground explosions over a nine-day period in late December and early January.

Officials with Indianapolis Power & Light will also discuss the utility's progress towards inspecting electrical cables throughout the Downtown area.

"The fire department is going to discuss its findings, and IPL is going to talk about our action plan, and the details of that will be at the press conference," said Crystal Livers-Powers, a utility spokeswoman.

Three explosions since New Year's Eve have rocked parts of Downtown, although it's unclear if all three are related. Experts have speculated that the cause of the blasts was related to the three-week-long bout of snowy and rainy weather.

Since the most recent explosion last Saturday, Livers-Powers said 960 manholes Downtown have been checked, and with extra help from out-of-town crews, things are going so well they will expand the project to check all 2,095 manholes in the Mile Square.

More details will be announced later.

Well the PC is fixed and in tip-top shape now, thankfully. (I seriously can't stand TV) Speaking of, I don't know if you all have this link but http://www.tv4all.com lets you tune in to stations around the world.

That recent post on Jill's site about the 17th is very worrysome, very ominous, has 311 days been excelled by anyone? I don't want to but i'm almost taking their word for it. Not good people.

Anyhow I wont be posting as much because all I have to offer is opinion and speculation, with all of the underground blasts lately, crazy weather everywhere, i'll leave it to the pro's to continue the thread information,

Stay safe all,

-skeggs

Strange story:

Reports: Four family members slain in Jersey City

1/14/2005, 9:13 a.m. ET
The Associated Press

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Four family members were found slain Friday morning in their home, according to broadcast reports.

The family — a mother, father and two children — was discovered after relatives reported they had not heard from the family in several days.

The bodies were found bound and gagged, and their throats were slashed, according to broadcast reports.

WNBC-TV in New York reported authorities were investigating whether a former tenant, who had had a dispute with the family, was involved.

One family member told WCBS radio in New York the family was from Egypt and he couldn't imagine who would want to harm them.

Authorities could not immediately be reached for comment.

You are correct Teri....it was mentioned on the 6:00 news but not the 11:00 news. Seems to be worth mentioning to me!

"..the family was from Egypt and he couldn't imagine who would want to harm them"

Really horrific story....but I think it is well know what group has an affinity for slitting people's throats. Jersey City also seems to have a fair share of these members of the "Religion of Peace".

After much thought, I would have to agree with Teri on this one. I truly thought about reporting it, and I possibly would if I had been smart enough to actually get the plate number from the handmade tag, or the number of the real tag on the front trailer, or even the FedEx unit number. I wish I had. Next time I will.

As Teri pointed out, the larger issue may be that of missing/stolen license plates. A missing plate attracts attention (it got mine), but a stolen truck could be tagged with a plate stolen from another truck, which could make it look more "ordinary", and would therefore be far less noticeable. I will be watching for more reports of lost/stolen tags.

Member of Al Qaida Linked Group Caught on US-Mexico Border

A man from Bangladesh was arrested last month attempting to illegally cross into the United Stats from Mexico.

Fakhrul Islam was apprehended with 13 other undocumented migrants, including a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, as they sought to enter the United States by crossing the Rio Grande River near Brownsville, Texas on December 4, the newspaper La Jornada reported.

The arrest has raised new concerns among US security officials about the use of the Mexican border as a transit route for terrorists entering the United States.

Mr. Islam reportedly admitted to having crossed the river illegally, according to charges presented to Border Patrol agents in Brownsville.
