State of the Union DRINKING GAME THREAD
xm177e2

Posted on 02/02/2005 4:10:51 PM PST by xm177e2

FIRST: What do we expect?

Bush received a lot of hostility from critics for his inaugural speech that had dozens of instances of "freedom" and "liberty" (30 to 17, IIRC). Will he use this same template for this speech, or pick a new path? I think he will go a new route, considering how the first speech was received by some (and considering that one usually doesn't make the same speech twice, the point is to set up the situation of the second speech by what you say in the first).

CATEGORY ONE:
Pick a word and take a drink every time he uses it: (this is best with a group of friends, if you have different words; be careful, some of these choices could land you in the hospital if you intend to do full shots)... a very brave person could take more than one word (or substitute beer for hard liquor...).

  1. Freedom
  2. Liberty
  3. Justice
  4. Election[s]
  5. Hope
  6. Terror[ists, ism]
  7. America[n, ns]
  8. Islam/Muslims
  9. The

CATEGORY TWO:
Take a few drinks if:

  1. He refers to "my friend" [partisan democrat's name]
  2. He mentions the alleged abuses in Gitmo/Abu Ghraib
  3. He mentions the Oil-For-Food scandal
  4. Says Sudan is a genocide (so why hasn't he done anything about it yet?)
  5. Refers to Halliburton

CATEGORY THREE:
Down the Bottle if Bush Announces:

  1. he will close the borders
  2. the name of a country he wants to invade
  3. that top officials will be held responsible for the torture/abuse committed on their watch
  4. Social Security will be scrapped
  5. Department of Education will be scrapped
  6. Abstinence Education will be scrapped
  7. Afghanistan is a failure
  8. Iraq is a failure
  9. We're pulling out of Iraq within a month
  10. We are at war with Islam
  11. We are at war with Democrats
  12. Sudan's NOT a genocide
  13. He uses the word "towelhead"
  14. He uses the word "Jesus"

I'm pretty sure he won't say "I did not have sexual relations with that woman". Can I drink if he doesn't say that???

If you had a drink for every look of disgust on a demonrat's face you will most assuredly have a severe case of alcohol poisoning regardless of your tolerance level

I'm going to mark this thread so I can link it the next time someone complains that you get banned here for saying anything challenging the Bush administration. Category three cracked me up!

I'll be drinking without listening (got "The Red Shoes" on video), but I'll look forward to reading this tomorrow, unless it's pulled.

Every time Hillary rolls her eyes should be good for a healthy belt. Down the whole bottle if Kerry pulls out a pen and starts scribbling.
