I am an angry white male soldier and I don't care what you think
my head ^ | Freeplancer

No, this is not some generic white-man rant that is passed around on the internet and attributed to Ted Nugent. It is from me, FReeplancer and I doubt it is a piece of work that would be spread anywhere, except with the rest of life's manure. You see, I am now and again a soldier and a Cancer survivor and I don't want your encouragement or kind words about any of it because I don't deserve it, so don't even write to me with any thing nice to say.

You can do a search on me and see pretty much what I have been up to since before the 2000 election. While living in Portland, Oregon, I FReeped Gore and attended Dubya's rally. I have been a good boy in all the ways a "conservative" guy can. After years of service and crazy jobs that took me around the world, I finally got serious about my relationship with God and I got married to a great gal, and I even became proactive in politics and other worthy endeavors. And after 2 years of being good, I get Cancer, and I did not give my Cancer a little pet name and have a Mommy come to my rescue to hold press conferences and make me think the whole world will always help me with my problems like little David Dingman-Grover did that we are reading about today.

Nope, instead, my wife worked even more while I sank into a haze of intensive chemotherapy. Hair today, gone tomorrow, and I could not lift my head off of a pillow one time and I could not remember my middle name either for a day, but guess what? Things got worse. Since we moved away from her family and went to Kansas so I can take a good job with my Dad, my wife's Father died and he was a retired Green Beret (19th Group) Company commander and professor at BYU and the greatest man I ever knew. He was also out rock. Anyway, she was all alone this year and worried that her husband of only 2-3 years was not going to make it. I did, and we declared bankruptcy because of all the medical bills, and then when life seemed to settle down and there was a faint light at the end of the tunnel, Reactivation and Deployment papers.

I already had Reagan, Bush 41 for a CIC, but now I have Bush 43 as one. I am glad he is a good man, but things are different this time. I will keep the secrets of the 160 men I am now going to call my family, but never have I seen such bad attitudes.

I and my new family will serve, but one of the only reasons most of us will this time, is because we would be ashamed to not do so while still in the shadow of WWII and the rest of the wars that some of us have already served in. I have learned that it does not matter what gets American Men to war, because once they are there, they do it all for each other and that is the purest truth I know of.

Now, back to being angry. I am, I really am angry. Sue me.

Freeplancer,

FYI... here is a letter I received from a friend who recently has been diagnosed with cancer...

My thoughts. Life is just boot camp for the real thing. I hope you are prepared as well as my friend.

God bless you.

Hi to all,

Well, there is a major change in plans. As you know, I was scheduled today to have radio frequency ablation surgery on my remaining tumor. Unfortunately, when I was sedated and in the CT machine, the scan revealed that within the last month my tumor has quadrupled in size, and the two lymph nodes that had previously looked suspicious before chemo were quite enlarged again. The doctors took a biopsy of the lymph nodes, and then sent me home without doing the ablation procedure because the tumor is now too large to operate on in that manner. Needless to say, the family and I were quite shocked at the news.

So, you ask, what now? I have an appointment on Monday to meet with my oncologist to discuss treatment options, but it appears that I'm headed down the chemo highway again, with some new drugs. The goal, of course, is to shrink the tumor down again and try to do the ablation procedure, but things are a little up in the air right now.

Thank you to all of you who have sent cards, written, called, and in general, been the wind beneath my wings. You'll never know how much your love and support has meant to me.

Please keep --name deleted-- and the kids in your prayers because this was quite a blow to them today. Blessings to all of you.

Love,
--- name deleted ---

I'm pretty pissed-off my own darned self.

Let's hate everything side-by-side.

So what exactly are you pissed about? The total lack of close to half of the American public pretty much turning their backs on you and your fellow compatriots? If that is the case, you came to the right place, because without a doubt we are just as upset as you are.

I was born in Council Grove by the way. A little spot in the road in Morris County south of Topeka. Where are you and yours? Knowing Kansas like I do could have probably waved to you from my house if I still lived there. The Flint hills is about as close as it gets to mountains around there.

So, you're a guy and you live in Kansas. So you'll understand the following scenario:

You in your pickup and I in my minivan are at opposite sides of the intersection of Main and Maple Street. I see you, you see me. Even tho I'm female, you understand the small upward nod I give you. My brothers told me it's guy-talk for "Hey, dude. You're doin alright" They also said it covers all social situations in which the receivee (that would be you) has had some troubles, and the nodder wishes to give encouragement, without gettin' all gushy about it.

I can't understand why you are still in the reserves!

In my 20 years of Navy service I NEVER heard of anyone with cancer who staying in the service - NEVER - and I new at least a dozen people who had cancer or other major illnesses who were discharged with some type of disability. Did you perhaps keep your cancer to yourself?

Perhaps you didn't persue all avenues available to you. Or perhaps you didn't really have cancer and are just bitching.

I tend to think that you are not being truthful in your letter. So I'm sorry to throw water on your fire, but the facts just don't add up.

"As a conservative, I have been labeled, ''an angry white man.''"

Don't let the loons like Chris Matthews get you down!! Being a conservative gives us a special cross to bear.

God bless you!!

God never promised us an easy life.<<<<

And Satan will do everything in his limited power and time to make sure of it. (See Book of Job)

It's weird how Satan will attack when a person either becomes a Christian, or "gets serious" about living a Christian life.

I don't see how a former Cancer patient could stay in the Guard or Reserves and then be reactivated. Does that happen often or is this coming from DitHF?

What do you have?

He posted: "and we declared bankruptcy because of all the medical bills"

So, it appears he does not have much.

A sacrastic person might say to the poster that it's not the fault of the medical bills it's "your fault" for not having insurance or the $$$ to pay the bills. And maybe also point out that it appears that the people you decided not to pay were the ones that were responsible for the fact you are alive today? And that if you are angry how do you think the people you stiffed out of money feel? Or the rest of society that's going to indirectly pay what you would not?

Good thing I'm not sarcastic.....

He was a good FReeper. I thought he was going to beat that damned disease. I'll miss him. Maybe we can get him on the FReeper memorial wall.

Excellent idea. But what will we say about him on his memorial wall? He left before he was here?
