"In 1986 the naturalization program that was supposed to facilitate one million illegal immigrants becoming citizens, instead facilitated three hundred and fifty percent of that amount. Three and one half million illegal immigrants came forward to request citizenship."

The same would happen this time around. The Politicians keep using numbers first used in the Clinton Administration. Since Bush has been in office alone, by Border Patrol's account, 24,000,000 have entered the country. They claim to catch 1 in 5, and they've been catching 1.5 million per year. Do the math. That's on top of Clinton's lies: 8-12 mil. No wonder we are being overrun. The sheer numbers are killing us. And that's in addition to record numbers of legal immigrants and the H1B and V class visas.

We were promised the illegal immigrant problem was solved."

I agree that the numbers are massive, but I don't honestly know what the exact numbers are. I try to stick with numbers that are reported in public. It saves a lot of arguing. Your figures may be more accurate. I appreciate the comments.

The amnesty in 1986, though a bad idea, was at least an untested one.

But after seeing what a disastrous failure it has turned out to be-in practice-it is astounding that President Bush would want an encore.

Isn't there a word for trying the same exact things repeatedly, and yet expecting different results?

And it seems no one is listening, changes won't be made, business as usual, one wonders what's it going to take to stop this massive drain on all our country's resources, schools, health care, welfare, taxpayers are tired of it isn't the government?

and the tooth fairy really exists . . . . .

and that Peter Pan lives hapily ever after with both Tinkerbell and the Tooth Fairy.

Give me a break!

<< I agree with you completely. >>

I also agree with you completely, DoughtyOne.

And suggest there is a solution.

And that, as Edmund Bourke once noted The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing.

As we have well demonstrated by felling the MSM's once impregnable old-growth forest -- by sending our asteroid to drive home to them their dinosaur status -- and to thus effect their extinction -- the power is ours for the excercising thereof!

And we must as relentlessly pursue the next step in the restoration of our beloved FRaternal Republic -- and rid ourselves of the self-annointed, self-appointed, indisputably self-perpetuating -- and effectively evil -- career politicians who represent none of US and serve only themselves!

There are other steps to be taken before our reclamation of our God-given, Declaration-of-Independence and Constitution-guaranteed Republic may be assured -- including the ridding our federal government of our Liberty's most insidious enemies: the malelovent hordes who comprise its permenant bureaucracy and the recalling and/or impeachment of the Rule-by-fiat "judges" they appoint over US.

But none is more imperative than the mass, forced retirement of our peers-of-their-own-realm political oligarchy!

Our failure to see them, every one,* as our Nation's deadly enemy, makes us, every one, responsible for his own and his Nation's inevitable demise.

Keep up the Good Works!

Blessings -- Brian

*Every one?

Sure: Did not "our" president, George W Bush, just take his whole family to Little Rock to assist our worst-ever president re-invent himself? Did not "our" president just appoint that same manifestation of evil to the administration's tsunami give-away? To its squandering of the confiscated wealth of millions of Americans? Clearly Rule One -- and Rule Last -- of American politics is "Protect our Oligarchy!"

At the end of the second three years, we are presently being led to believe that they will have to leave our nation. Can anyone take that promise serious? Illegal immigrants that we cannot or will not send home today, will be sent home in six years?

When these people have been here legally for six years and our acceptance of them has been forced on us think of the outcry that will ensue when they are told to leave. You think you hear whining now? Wait till they have been a "part" of our society. Oh dear! The hand-wringing and sob stories will be too numerous to bear.

"Poor Jose. He has been a hardworking member of Bush's society for the past six years. We can't kick him out now. In fact, we should let him bring his family here so they can enjoy the good life, too."

"Poor Jaunita. She has waited on the Johnson family and their two children for six years. The children love her and it would like tearing their own mother from them."

"Poor Paco. He's been keeping the executive toilets clean for six years. We really count on him. No American would work this job for six years with no raises at $8/hour. How will our toilets ever be as clean again."

The list goes on and on.

When do we as Americans get to say "enough is enough"?

Those of us who live in SoCal have seen these devastating effects upclose and personal...we have lost our communities to massive illegal immigration. Many thanks for your continuing efforts to illustrate for the rest. BUMP

At least 1 million US citizens marching on Washington in protest of the situation our 'elected representatives' have allowed to befall us.

I won't hold my breath.

Not only does this issue cost us billions of dollars but it will end up destroying our country if it's not stopped. The fact that it continues unabated tells me who really controls our government. The politicians don't even have the guts to force those who benefit from and encourage illegal immigration to pay for the expenses they bring with them. The American people should be raising hell over this one issue because it's so important to our country's survival.I'm tired of being sold out by gutless politicians.

If the opposition politicians and citizens of the United States would only allow the illegal immigrant population at that time to be naturalized, the federal government would devise new laws and make sure they were enforced. The borders WOULD be brought under control.

I didn't believe it the first time, I don't believe it now.

We have no 'elected representatives.'

We don't chose them -- by criminal gerrymander after criminal gerrymander after criminal gerrymander, they chose US.

We must see to the imposition of term limits and restore ownership of our republic to its Rightful Owners, We The People. US!

Only then can we begin to see to our own governance in the way our founding fathers willed it to US!
