America is a nation on the decline because of our move away from God and religion and our love of secularism. Children are taught evil, immoral things in school such as how to put condoms on bananas and Darwin's theory of evolution. Mandatory prayer in public schools has been forced out, along with theology. These wonderful Biblical things have been replaced by an ungodly love of science and other anti-Christian, anti-moral subjects.
Most of Europe has plunged itself into the depraved depths of Sodom and Gomorrah because of its secularism. America is well on its way to following them. But it doesn't have to be this way. In a world that is increasingly moving away from religion and traditional values, a shining beacon of light stands as a courageous fortress of morality and virtue. That beacon is fudamentalist Islam. Islamic theocracies have none of the evils that plague our secular society. They have no abortions, no gay marriage, no teaching of evolution, and no teenage girls dressed like sluts. They are morally superior to us and we should strive to follow their example. Let us bring religion and moral values back to our government and our society.
I watch the situation in Iraq and pray each day that Iraq follows the virtuous, fundamentalist path of Iran rather than the evil, secularist path of non-fundamentalist Muslim nations like Turkey. Countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia are the best examples of moral values we have, and America should become more like them. The secularist tendencies of the new Afghan government are another worry. We never should have removed the Taliban from power.
America is a nation obsessed with freedom and individual rights. If we are to become a virtuous and moral nation, we must learn to make the rights of the individual subordinate to the morality and virtue of the whole. If freedom means the freedom to smoke marijuana, leer at bikini-clad women, or read Darwinist gibberish, I want no part of it. If freedom stands in the way of morality, then freedom must go, for nothing is more important than morals and the way of God.
I am a Christian, but I salute Islam for sticking to its guns and not becoming "moderate" like so many of my lost Christian brothers have. May fundamentalist Islam and fundamentalist Christianity work together to defeat the evil of Satan, secularism, Darwin, and the abortionist. Long live the Islamic Republic of Iran! May America find its way and follow Iran's shining example of morality.

Robert Bork is one of our greatest legal minds, and his "Borking", so to speak, was definitely one of the all-time great travesties of injustice.
As far as the part about "long live the Islamic Republic of Iran", I'm afraid we'll have to part ways there.

Here's a clue: Morality and religion are important becasue they support freedom, not because they replace it. Forced morality and forced religion are false versions of both and only result in oppression, not morality. What we should shoot for is a government that protects and respects religion and morality, so that they can work their wonders on the public and aid in the governing of self. Without them we colapse, but forcing them (with some exceptions on the morality side) destroys them.
Our current problem is that government is forcing secularism. We have largely lost our freedom to express religous and moral views. Those who do are treated like homosexuals used to be treated -- with shame and rejection. See, taboos, shame, social disapproval, all serve to aid a free society so that laws are less necessary. But these natural parts of social interaction can work in reverse, causing peer and social pressure to act wrongly rather than rightly.
Yada yada...you miss the picture. Religion and morality are the strongest SUPPORTS of a free people. When the government via the courts become hostile to both, then our culture suffers and eventually so does our freedom. The problem is gov't hostility, not gov't enforcement.

we must learn to make the rights of the individual subordinate to the morality and virtue of the whole.and that's how communism got it's footing - sounds good EXCEPT the one clause that takes freedom out of the equation.
