An operations manager for Jack in the Box was late for a meeting and called his boss to let him know he was running late. As the manager was leaving the voicemail message, he witnessed an accident and went on to provide a "play by play" account of the incident. This is the actual voicemail message. It was forwarded so many times within Jack in the Box that it crashed their voicemail server.
Is this the one with the Mother Goose lady?
Yes it is. Has it made it to FR before?
If this guy always stops to give running commentaries like this, it's no wonder that he's late to work.
It has been here before, but not everyone caught it I'm sure, and it is so great, it deserves another chance.
Yeah, a month or 2 ago. But maybe some missed it. ;~ )
It doesn't sound the least bit believable.
Tend to agree.
Tears are running down my face right now--I am laughing so hard---Okay, now my husband just walked into the room and Hannity and Colmes is on with the video tape of the little girl getting handcuffed---
He is appalled that I would be laughing at that!!! (he didn't hear audio)....LOL
OMG this is a freakin' riot,,,,
mother goose, bible, umbrellas, OMG, still LMAO!!!!
I hadn't heard it!
LOL.

Why doesn't it sound believable---?
I was totally picturing my 73 year old mother and her bridge buddies on their way to a restaurant, doing this--!
Jack-in-the-Box swears it's real. And a local paper tracked down this guy recently and interviewed him - the article was posted here on FR.
From Snopes

That was hilarious!
I did check snopes after listening to it, and they have the status as "undetermined." http://www.snopes.com/autos/mishaps/beating.asp
Now for something not so funny
Gotta go out and cut the grass.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He wasn't in a church parking lot, was he?
He's in Texas, is probably Baptist or Methodist, and recognized it on sight. He described my own Bible, a hardbound NIV study Bible, although he said "NVI".
Aww dang, the link doesn't want to work for me right now, so I'm bookmarking for later.
He said it happened right in front of him---besides, a Bible is usually pretty easy to distinguish---
Actually that part was when I really lost it!!!
It took the "4 old ladies" less than one minute from the time of impact for all of them to evacuate the car and begin to unleash their wrath.
I don't buy it for a second.
Well, if I've been hoaxed, he was so funny he made it worth my while.
One of the 'toon's favorite props..........
I agree! His laughter was funny, regardless if it was a hoax or not. Laughter like that is infectious!
My goodness, there is so much that is making me frustrated and angry lately that even if it is a hoax, I say, "no harm, no foul", because no one was hurt...
unless you are a dem, they HATE to laugh, no sense of humor at all...
I also have to say that Jack-in-the-Box make some of the funniest commercials, also, there have been a few that have made me laugh out loud---so again, if it is a hoax, the guy "picked" a good company to work for.
Don't know how many wrecks you have witnessed at an intersection, but the traffic is usually stopped until the police get there to get the traffic going again. And if you witnessed it, you should stick around to leave you name.
OMG, I don't think I have laughed that hard in ages.
I think that there are a lot of freepers that are just a little cranky, or ya'll wouldn't be taking this SO serious.
Just listen, visualize and laugh, really, it feels good!
I had one that just briefly crossed my mind, but, my brain cells are dying so fast, I forgot already, but...
Wouldn't it be funny if Jack-in-the-Box incorporated this call INTO a commercial?
You bettcha.
A month or so ago there was a group of older women leaving an Eastern Star meeting in Texas City, TX. A guy run up and grabbed one of the ladies purse and the rest of the ladies, got him down and held him until the police got there.
Never underestimate little old ladies, especially here in Texas because you never know which one is packing heat, and many of them do.
Carls Jr. OTOH, has the most disgusting commercials on the air.
Don't bother me, I'm eating
What a bunch of pigs.
I hate commercial where they actually show people eating with the sounds included...
I know what you mean, I asked Mom one time if she wanted a cellphone, just in case...
She said maybe a gun would be better..
LOL...I was talking about in case of a flat tire or something...but, she got the cellphone, no gun.
I wonder about the authenticity of this too. I have never seen any publsihed factual information about this phone call, just hearsay. The only thing I have read is about people who claim to have seen/read interviews of them man who made the call, or people who say that Jack in the Box sears this is true.
I have never once heard the name of this man given (the caller, that is). If he has been interviewed by the news media, shouldn't such as his name, be readily available?? Tracking down the callers identity should be pretty easy (although I admit I have never tried - but then again I have never seen anyone else post this info either).
If this event really happened as described, there is probably an accident report on file with the police somewhere. There would also probably be assault charges filed against the old women. These police records should theoretically be available to the public, and the involved parties therefore easily identifiable.
However, I have never seen ANY supporting information EVER published about this supposed event (date, place, names of those involved, etc...). If this event had actually occurred, I would think that someone would have published that info by now, and put all this speculation to bed.
I have to go with those who say that this is a hoax, until evidence to the contrary is presented.
So many words. Who cares. It's funny.
I have the cell phone and a gun as well as a can of pepper spray. Don't mess with Texas Grandma's.
It sure is, I was ROTFLMBOAPMP.
LOL! do you think?
I just can't believe that there were freepers last night that wanted to make a federal case of whether the tape was legit---
I think a Friday night is the perfect time to share something as funny as that, regardless of how it came to be!!!
If fact, I may just go back and play it again today!

OMG Hilarious.
