VANITY: Anyone listening to Savage? He started with the First Lady

All right. Finished Medved, and on KSKY-660AM, Savage follows.

Get this: He immediately starts in with the First Lady, talked about how the "Bushes" played the Christian vote for suckers, and he gives compliments the first ladies of France and Germany over ours. Next, he whines about his being "blacklisted."

This mouthbreather is something else! Have at it. I had to share.

"Not listening. I quit listening to Savage, mm, let me think, around 3 years ago."

Me too. I used to listen to him on KSFO in San Francisco, and most days would end up turning him off. They finally unloaded him to another local station, and I think my blood pressure went down to normal ranges. He's a self centered loud mouth who constantly insults most listeners intelligence. Life is much calmer now that I listen to Glenn Beck, Lars Larsen, Laura Ingraham, And yes, even Sean Hannity. Many on this site go on about Hannity being a conceited self promoter, but he can't hold a candle to Michael Weiner!!

Savags is da man. A genuis. A bit crazy? Yes, but genuises often are. When he's lucid, focused and engaged, he can teach you a lot about life.

The Mrs. Bush rant was old about five minutes after he started in on it. She told some PG rated, slightly-off color jokes... so what. I'm not sure exactly what Savage expects Mrs. Bush to do; hold teas and bat her eyes adoringly while her husband is speaking.

"Savage has been going nuts over this for 2 days it is getting nauseating."

As Al Franken is to the neurotic, weirdo extremists on the left, so is Michael Weiner to the neurotic, weirdo extremists on the right.

Oh, I remember now. We did see the name 'em & shame 'em show - I guess I just forgot where it was. He did have an assistant that kept filling his glass, and he got drunker and drunker, and just rambled, and mocked the crowd. I heard him talking about that show on one of his radio shows later. He was under the delusion that the more he drank, the clearer he got in his mind. Uh, OK, Mike. Maybe you were clear in your mind, but what you were saying was a jumble. And it's kinda bad form to insult people who paid good money to hear you speak.

Mrs. Bush was ill advised to make such remarks at her husband's expense."""

Really? The liberal media, who hate her husband, loved her remarks. Isn't that what counts?

And Savage is just the epitome of the Christian attitude.

KNEW took him. What's funny about that is I discovered KNEW to escape listening to Savage. They had Larry Elder on in that time slot. One day, I turned on KNEW, and heard Savage. They'd dumpted Elder for Savage!

Agreed. :-)

I also haven't found his comments about Laura to be a big deal. She is the first "lady" after all.

You do know Savage isn't a Christian?

Although I've heard of Savage, I really have no clue who he is. However, I want to ask GW why he is in favor of this: The UN's Law of the Sea

Seems to me, Christian or not, we to the right were concerned about the possibility that Kerry would sign away our sovereignty, so what's up with this?

But everyone, including the liberal media, loves Laura Bush. What's not to love about her?

I noticed even this past week, that when he fumbles he asks the audience for their favorite "bits" for him to do. There are only so many time he can prompt his base for requests for "Dr. UnSavage" or "Scungilli" routines.

In the Name 'Em and Shame 'Em show, he had lifesize cut-outs of Clinton, Hillary!, Albright, Cohen, et. al., on stage, and he said he was going to name them and shame them. Instead, he got so blasted that the more affluent audience members (this was Marin, after all) got up and left. He began insulting them, so more people got up and left. He never did his Name 'Em routine, he only asked the hangers on for their favorite routines, and then didn't do them.

In Concord, he had a more polished routine but the alcohol caused him to screw up and he skipped the entire third act. It's too bad, because he had Armstrong & Getty and Tom McClintock on the bill with him. I wonder how McClintock feels now about being on that bill with him (although he was long gone by the time the Savage antics began).

I remember that. My husband and I were among those who got up and left. We don't live in Marin (we had to drive over the Richmond-San Rafael bridge to get there), and it was a bit of a drive for us, so I was even more angry with his "performance". We'll never go to another one of his events - we passed on the Concord event, even though we were invited by my husband's cousin and his wife to go. And Concord isn't much of a drive for us.

I didn't know about KNEW until they took Savage. I listen to them at other times for Lars Larsen, Glenn Beck & Jeff Katz so I can avoid George Nouri and Dr. Laura. Other than Savage, and some jerk named "Leonard" who's on weekend nights there line up isn't bad! Too bad they gave up Elder!
I still prefer KSFO on the whole, with Rush, Melanie Morgan & Lee Rodgers, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham.

I think he probably is off his rocker - I didn't know he had a drinking problem (on the air?). I also think you're right about his unworkable "solutions" - almost like he's afraid of appearing like what he rants about on other people. He's kind of funny sometimes, but he can be so offensive and inflammatory that I find it hard to listen for long.
Why does he badmouth all the other conservative talk-show hosts? I think he's paranoid. I don't see his case against Rush. What's wrong with Hannidy? (given no one's perfect).
