It shouldn't become an international incident.

Do you know where the term "red herring" comes from?

Why are some of us so intent on creating an enemy where totally unnsecessary?

Most of us are not.
But I have no desire to contradict them when, every day, they scream "murder" at me.

Mangy savage murderings dogs...

>>The bible is treated much worse in the same countries which are demanding this high level of respect.

>So you think that is alright?

I think he answered that. He (and I) doesn't think it's alright BUT:

We wouldn't organize our churches to go out and kill innocent people...BIG DIFFERENCE!
No one here is going to kill someone because they are "offended" by it.

Why don't we just call it "art," like the lefties did with that NY exhibit with the crucifix in a jar of urine. No harm, no foul, right?

I don't think there's any evidence that the Germans worshipped Hitler in the way you would worship a god...

True.
They worshipped him better than most folks worship God.

I wonder if those on this thread making light of this would have similar feelings of joy if the bible or torah was used in the same way.

Nope. We pay tax dollars for perverts to do that and we call it public "art."

According to your profile we agree on many things. Not this.
Easier.....EASIER.
That would make a pitifully ironic epitaph for the civilized world, wouldn't it?
"It was 'easier' to let them alone until they did something."

Islam has put the world on notice for centuries. It will dominate-it must dominate. And EVERY human who calls themselves a Muslim believes this. They must, to be Muslim.

Leaving them alone until they ' did something' got us 9-11.
Every one of the hijackers was ' left alone', because they hadn't done anything.
If they hadn't been, those thousands who died would still be here.
Given a choice between being unfair and dead, we'd better choose unfair.

If they want "martyrdom", fine. We'll give it to them. If they leave us alone, they'll be afforded the same courtesy. When you talk about "Muslims", it's important to remember that this doesn't magically exclude Afghanis, Iraqis, and Iranian rebels. These are our friends. No need to infuriate them.

NO one who calls themselves a Muslim is my friend. NO one. They may be LESS of an enemy- for now- but call someone who believes what Islam is a 'friend'? Not I.
I am not compatible with anyone who belongs to a death cult from the 10th century any more than I would be with a neanderthal.
You may designate your friends however you choose.
I will never consider any Muslim my friend, or the friend of my country.
Never.

I don't advocate a reactive stance. If they are intent on hurting us, we hit them first. That's the point of preemption. What I mean is don't go after those who leave us alone or are not a threat to us. The first instant some mullahnut starts rounding up terrorists, we hit them and we hit them hard.

Remember, when speaking of Muslims, we include people like PM Ayad Allawi, PM Harmid Karzai, and the brave people of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran who are standing up for freedom. They believe this deeply, yet don't want to destroy the "Zionists" or the "Great Satan". Concentrate on the Hamas, Al Qaeda, PLO, etc while we build up alliances with the others and get them away from the jihadists, CAIR terrorist group, race and hate pimps of the Demonseptic party, the lying, propagandist DeathScreamMedia who never ever fail to denigrate Pres. Bush and our troops as "enemies of Islam", and the "professors" and "experts" brainwashing them into thinking America and Israel is the root of all the evil in the world.

Speaking of the DSM, when was the last time we heard ANYTHING positive about Islam in the news. What about the Jews, Christians, Bddhists, etc?

It probably is and besides 9-11 told us these radical Muslims consider it virtuous to KILL Christians and Jews. Frankly, I don't care what they do to the Koran. Burn it publicly for all I care.

If there were a way to get Koran's free( no way am I putting any money into Muslim hands), I would advocate burning one as part of every American holiday- religious and otherwise.
4th of July is coming.
Independence Day.
Good start.

I can't convince you and you can't convince me. We'll agree to disagree.

But don't worry, if the horde invaded a la "Red Dawn", you'll see me fighting in the streets just the same.

Moral relativism, equating Islam with Christianity and Judaism.

This is true. Islam has much more in common with Torah Judaism than Christianity or modern Judaism.

Read Exodus and Deuteronomy some time.

In America you wouldn't In Indonesia they would.

Muslims in America didn't riot, either. This is as much cultural as it is religious.

After all the trouble to avoid even the appearance of this conflict being a "holy war",

A little late for that. My opinion.

I doubt we'd riot and kill people over it. Perhaps we ought to?
