Free Republic Military?

I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

I was a medic also and that training led to a civilian job because my Reserve boss hired me to work at the hospital where she was the Director of Nursing. Then I did my OJT at my civilian job. I didn't miss many meetings, but I only went to 5 summer camps. I never got to do anything cool like fly in a thunderstorm. LOL

I agree that the Bush ANG 'scandal' was just BS.

Uncle Sam's Flying Circus 77-85. Wires and pliers radioman with the air commandos.

4 Lockhead C-141B Starlifters inbound to Sidewinder DZ to drop some "Titty bundles", just west of EL Centrol NAF in SoCcal. And yes, the dry lake bed was hotter than hades, usually 115+ F. Death Valley style heat but with some humidity.

Well my husband and I served 3 years in Seoul, SK in 1974-1976 in the 8th Army. My oldest son served as a Marine, my daughter, in the Air Force, and my youngest son is a medic who just served in Iraq for a year. I agree with you, if it had not been for the military we would not be where we are today. The best friends I have ever made were in the military and the experience helped to transition into a civilian job.

1976-1980 USMC 3531, interservice transfer to USN 1980-1996 Navy Field Corpsman. but I could only do it for 20 years.

Be right back in if they would take me.

PS to those turds who impune Vets, (and FR) obviously they never served and are cowards.
