"As far as I could see, George Allen from Virginia was not with the group of deserters."

I beleive he stayed rock solid. looks like he's shaping up to be our guy in 2008.

To all, anyone have the email address for Lindsey Graham? I urge all SC Freepers to email him. Remind him of the statesman we have in SC Governor Sanford who does what is right even if it might be unpopular. Urge Senator Wimpy Graham to display statesmanship and try to measure up to the stature of Mark Sanford. If Graham insists on being a rino (i can't even capitalize that word anymore), then maybe we can draft Sanford to run against him. Of course that may wreck my hopes of Sanford in the presidential race in 08.

I wrote to Lindsay on Friday, obviously to no avail, HE CAVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER THIS LINDSAY, YOU ARE TOAST IN MY EYES, I'LL NOT VOTE FOR YOU AGAIN AND I LIVE IN SOUTH-BY-GOD-CAROLINA!!!

Here's the real concern, though: we lose the p.r. high ground if the rules change is tried with a white male nominee.

The filibuster needs to be ended. So the GOP needs to end it with the best possible nominee to attach a face to, and get it over with. That would be Janice Rogers Brown or Priscilla Owen. This deal is about giving the Rats and RINOs cover with racism, sexism, and harassment allegations that will be tossed out against these good men. Deny it to them now, and change the rule now, and that stuff is irrelevant.

"In any case, the old marxist({:-)) saying applies here: "If you can get the head in, you can get it all in." "

LOL! I can tell you that is not always true.

Anyhow, 75%? No way. Hillary is just probably calling Senators up and reading them passages from their FBI files, in that sexy voice of hers.

Woa, I missed it. This is a done deal already?

No way. Good grief.

If this is true I'm fixing to go into shock. The republicans are almost all on record as saying that more then a simple majority vote of judicial nominees is not what the Constitution calls for, which is true.

This is not a good deal, not at all.

The RINOs will cave...or pay hell come election day.

I'm tired of rino's. I'm also retired. I can live anywhere for a while. We need to identify those rino's where we can influence the primary, move there, even register to vote, and work our butts off.

Since bad political decisions should have consequences, I would even vote and work for their Dummie opponent, should the rino win the primary.

Having rino's doesn't help us in the least it seems. So get rid of them as a warning for future traitors.

Further to my #68....
I would appeal to Freepers in the states the rino's are in, to please contact, or Freepmail me as to which rino's are facing an election in 2006. I might just like to come and say Howdy.

I have a stack too. And you just gave me an idea: I'll send every request for a donation back with a polite explanation of why I'll cease my contributions!

I agree it looks like Frist never had the votes

If Frist didn't have the votes, why did the democrats even bother with this deal? They could have let Frist call for a vote and shoot himself in the foot. Apparently, neither the dems nor the republicans believed they had the votes.

Frist didn't have the votes as long as the dems were prepared to give the RINO's a minor concession.

The only reason the deal took so long, was that the Dems had been hoping they could peel enough off without having to cave on Owen or Brown.

We've been sold out and betrayed. That's what I think.

The US Senate sucks!
