Do not be fooled, the Republican Senate RAPED you tonight.

Posted on 05/23/2005 5:57:23 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

I know how much we all want to support our side. I know that many of us are looking for something good in what happened tonight. Sadly, an honest assessment will result in a single conclusion, that tonight the Republican Senate failed the nation, in order to protect themselves from having to take a vote that would determine the future Presidential ambitions of some Senators.

Do not blame the 12 moderates, because we already knew that they could not be trusted. Do not blame the President, and tonight, you cannot even blame the Democrats. Their side did their job, which was to win. Our side did not. I am not posting this to bash the Republican Party, I am posting this, because I already see some of us looking for the silver lining in this turd. Do not do that. Face the reality of the situation, which is that Senators care about Senators. Bill Frist had ample opportunity to change Senate rules prior to the formation of the 109th Congress. He also had ample opportunity to pull the trigger weeks, even months ago. He did not, which is why I said in an earlier post, that would not vote for Frist for President no matter the outcome of events.

Unfortunatly, we have no recourse. We cannot give up the Senate in an attempt to punish the Senate Republicans. We cannot afford to cut off our noses to spite our faces. But the time will come, where we will have a chance to make our voices heard. Not tonight, not 2006 but maybe by 2008 we will have the voice, the organization, and the attention of enough minds to truly punish the Senate for what they did tonight.

Keep your powder dry, and wait for these folks to come into range. Save your ammo for now. But one day, we will make them pay.

I wont argue, you will just have to see for yourself. Ping me when the heartburn comes. I have seen this before. Our Republican Senate is made up of some of the most spineless, pussified, wimpy, light-in-the-loafers phonies that you could ever imagine. Some of those who come off as Conservatives every day, only do so for votes. Do you think Trent Lott is a Conservative? Do you think Orrin Hatch is a Conservative? John Warner? Bill Frist? I could name names, but I wont. It should be obvious by now, that Conservatism in the Senate is a rare thing. Conservatives have principles that guide them. They dont need to check polls and raise funds before doing the right thing. Frist is a phony. Most of the Republican Senate are phonies. These dudes just want the jobs, the attention, and the friggin lifetime pension. And every damn one of them THINKS that they should be President.

Frankly, I give up. If you vote Repubican and you make under $60,000 a year you are a fool. All the Christian people out there voting for Bush should just stop wasting their time.

Vote for pocketbook. The Repubs have been playing the "values" card for 20 years and nothing has changed.

Accept the fact that both parties in Reality are pro-choice. Start a third party if you wish, but give up the dream that the Repubs are ever going to change the Judiciary.

This just demonstrates for all of us that it is not enough to work for a Republican candidate's election. We must work for election of Conservatives. Win, lose or draw, we must focus on Conservatives. I don't care if that candidate ultimately loses, I will support them, even here in NJ, if they are the truest to Conservative ideals. At least that way, the candidates that do get elected will be reliable.

You hope Frist is "ticked off?"

LOL< of course he is. He jsut got whooped by his own party.

That idiot can't even round up 50 votes when HIS party has 55.

Ultimately, this is Frist's and Bush's fault.

Leaders are there to lead, not follow.

ALL of those nominees were deserving of an up or down vote.

We didn't get power. We got the DNC telling US what to do and our RHINOS went along with it.

Although I am deeply disappointed that Frist let this one get away, I do not see it as the end of the Republican world. We have all known for some time that Frist has no gonads, so why are we shocked at this?

We got three nominees who will be voted on and will be approved. We lost two of them.

Also the DU'mmies are screaming blood murder as well. And if they are PO'd about this, then it cannot be all that bad for our side.

The big fight is yet to come.

The DUmmies should be pissed off too.

The Senate voted only to protect themselves. To hell with the nation, the courts and the President. I would be just as angry if I were a liberal. They chose themselves and their Presidential ambitions over the nation, and for that they should pay. Someday they will.

This is right up there with Terri Schlinder.

I will have no reservation about telling them to screw now. All campaign donation envelopes will be returned with nothing but a computer-printed picture of the African rhino.

Tonight they maintained a rule that could be very important WHEN, not IF, the Democrats once again have the majority in the Senate.

---

And you believe if in the same shoes the dems would not have changed the rules? HA! They would have changed the rules long ago. Then again, since have they ever played by the rules/law?

""The next time the Dummies are in the majority, they'll change the Senate rules on Day 1"

Then why didn't they during the 50 years they controlled congress?"

The same reason, whatever it is, that they didn't filibuster judges until this year.

We gave the idea for the "nuclear" option; made the case for it; made it clear that most Repubs wanted to do it. Now, they have the political cover and, if they get the majority, they'll do it.

Democrats would have changed the rule last year after about 5 minutes of debate. They dont give a crap, they want to WIN.

Sample Letter to Senator John Warner.

Dear Senator Warner,

I have always supported you in the past. Tonight for the first time, I feel that you do not support me, or the other conservative voters of our great Commonwealth. I worked hard in this last election cycle. Giving to the RNC, and President Bush, as well as other responsible conservative 527 groups. I gave until it hurt and then some, and, as an active duty service member, I do not have a great deal of discretionary income. Still, our family sacrificed, monetarily, I wrote letters to the editor, posted yard signs and generally did all I could do, within my means, and within the rules that govern political activity in the military. My wife and I worked this hard, in large part, because we believe it is of vital importance to the future of this country, that the radical left not be allowed to pack the courts with liberal activist judges, who see their role as advocates and guardians of liberal policy rather than as neutral and detached judges applying the law as written. This unconstitutional usurping of Congressional authority, has allowed the radical left to win in the courts, what they can not win at the ballot box.

Today, when I learned that you sided with the Democratic party, I felt that all of my family's work and sacrifice was for nothing. I can not overstate my profound sense of dissappointment in your decision. A decision based on the naive hope, that should the Democrats regain the majority, they will be nice to a Republican Minority. Of course, now that the majority of Republican Senators have taken the principled stand against judicial filibusters, they could never invoke the same tool against Democratic nominees. No, you have not secured the right of Republicans to filibuster future judicial nominees, all you have accomplished is dividing the Republican party, demoralizing its core constituency and boosting the morale of the Democratic Minority that carried the day, with only 45 Senators. Americans respect winners, and by handing the Democrats a major victory, you have only made their return to power, more likely.

I hope you will reconsider your decision and restore the trust, that I and millions of other conservative Virginians have placed in you.

Sincerely
I. M. Betrayed
