I know how much we all want to support our side. I know that many of us are looking for something good in what happened tonight. Sadly, an honest assessment will result in a single conclusion, that tonight the Republican Senate failed the nation, in order to protect themselves from having to take a vote that would determine the future Presidential ambitions of some Senators.
Do not blame the 12 moderates, because we already knew that they could not be trusted. Do not blame the President, and tonight, you cannot even blame the Democrats. Their side did their job, which was to win. Our side did not. I am not posting this to bash the Republican Party, I am posting this, because I already see some of us looking for the silver lining in this turd. Do not do that. Face the reality of the situation, which is that Senators care about Senators. Bill Frist had ample opportunity to change Senate rules prior to the formation of the 109th Congress. He also had ample opportunity to pull the trigger weeks, even months ago. He did not, which is why I said in an earlier post, that would not vote for Frist for President no matter the outcome of events.
Unfortunatly, we have no recourse. We cannot give up the Senate in an attempt to punish the Senate Republicans. We cannot afford to cut off our noses to spite our faces. But the time will come, where we will have a chance to make our voices heard. Not tonight, not 2006 but maybe by 2008 we will have the voice, the organization, and the attention of enough minds to truly punish the Senate for what they did tonight.
Keep your powder dry, and wait for these folks to come into range. Save your ammo for now. But one day, we will make them pay.
Why have you added "Account removed per poster's request." to your own home page?
"The first thing that should happen is to get rid of McCain...
Arizona?"
McCain is such an arrogant jerk. I did not vote for him. But he won 70 per cent of the vote. He did not campaign at all.
Probably the only one who could beat him is J.D. Hayworth, but he's also been mentioned by the party for a run at the governorship.
Term limits now! Put the power back into the hands of the American people.
Some day, I want to vote for a party that does not just want to win if they can get along with their opponents, but a party that will kick the crap out of their enemy every single damn day.

Ever heard of Republicrats?
Think about it....
Because moderates are merely liberals with a guilty conscience.
Is it a joke....?
You're not leaving because of 'tonight' are you?
I agree that I would have liked to nuke them. But the good news is that we didn't have to.
How would you like to be Reid right now. 7 of his 44 senators just signed an agreement not to support his filibusters.
sure, like when they helped confirm ruth bader ginsburg 96-3 with no debate.
What a wonderful question.
They just wanna be re-elected. While America goes down the tubes. Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, John McCain et al.. If they're so righteous why don't they vote for the party and face the music. This was staged as a passion play. I'm not applauding. They lost one vote in '06. Hail Hillary. If were gonna be ruled by 'Rats why not just drop the other shoe. What a joke.
we got three judges. nothing else. the future promises from the Dem senators is worthless. we still have to engage in this fight for any conservative judges, with the added anchor that 7 on our side are likely to turn against us.
I want to get another mailing from the RNC asking for money.
I want to get another phone call from the RNC asking for money.
Oh yeah...
What? If the situation is ever reversed, the Dems will be all over the constitutional option like flies on fudge.
This changes nothing.
Bring the three "accepted" nominees to the floor tomorrow for up/down votes.
Also bring the next not-accepted nominee to the floor for a vote.
If the Dims filibuster, pull the N.O. trigger.
