different appetites for competition

No question. This has been observed in educational settings as well. Boys will raise their hands and offer answers even when they don't have one. Girls don't, and furthermore they tend to learn better in groups without boys!

I despise internal competition in the work ennvironment.

Feminism is one of socialism's most useful tools.

One thing that this article totally missed is that men and women think differently. Men are pretty much guided by principal. Women, on the other hand, will suspend the rules and look at things like who gets hurt and who will be affected. If you were to go too far in either direction. With men you would end up with the excesses of Nuremberg. In an extreme female run society women would be killing their babies. What society needs is a combination of both men and women together running things so that neither excess will be realized.

Great. Now we have two "conservatives" at the NY Times: David Conservatives-should-insist-on-gay-marriage Brooks, and now John Tierney: promotes feminism and evolution in this column. Was the Times running short on feminism and evolution; did I miss something??

I know most of the answers are going to be silly but I think the one thing women want, especially married women with children is security.

As Neal Boortz says, and is repeatedly proven correct, one of the greatest dangers to America and our liberty is women for they greatly prefer security over freedom.

Good post.

I have always told people who bitch about sports stars making millions that they should not at all be upset. After all there are many millions of people who for instance love to watch baseball, and very very few people who can throw a 95 MPH split finger fast ball, and even fewer who can hit one. The demand for those individuals is very high, while the supply is very low, therefore the salaries are in fact proportionate. It's perfectly logical that they should make lots of money.

But thinking about Madonna, (ugh) I have to revisit that stock answer. Like baseball, there are absolutely many millions of people who enjoy watching half naked tramps sing and dance. But unlike baseball, there is no shortage of tramps willing to sing and dance while removing their cloths. Every town has at least one titty bar where women every bit as "good looking" or better than Madonna do it for a few bucks stuffed in their G-strings, and lots of other bars where they do it for a few cheap beers.

I guess there is no logical reason why Madonna should makes millions. ;~))

gasoline was retailing for $ 3.09 per gallon today at the Union 76 station in Malibu, California.

Probably Designer Gas.

Actually, I'm amazed they allow a gas station in Malibu. What if a drop got into the pristine beaches and sickened one of the stars? What if Babs got a sniff. What if it killed some endangered gerbil?

Women know exactly what they want. However, should a man ever discover what that is, women feel obligated to change their mind. Repeat as necessary.

I disagree. Women don't know what they want; they just know they're not satisfied with what they have.

Men, on the other hand, know exactly what they want, but after they get it, they lose interest.
