MoveOn.org's anti-Catholic Paranoia (MoveOn.org and George Soros Alert)
FrontPageMagazine.com ^ | May 27, 2005 | Don Feder

Democrats lost the evangelical vote decades ago. As the last election showed, they are now in danger of permanently losing Catholics.

But the left has devised an ingenious technique for winning back disaffected Catholics – insult their Church and its leader. And they thought of this all by themselves?

As part of the campaign to defeat the Republican push to end the judicial filibuster, on May 17, 2005, MoveOn.org, PAC ran an ad appealing to anti-Catholic paranoia. The broadside was an altered photo that showed Pope Benedict XVI standing outside the Supreme Court’s chambers. The pontiff appears to be holding a gavel.

George Sorloser is an atheist, so is there any surprise? It just shows that the Democratic Party must want to die. It makes me want to throw some mayonaise on his suit.

The great Don Feder writes another masterpiece.

While hatred of Jews themselves is becoming the anti-Semitism of today's Leftist intellectuals, anti-Catholicism was the anti-Semitism of intellectuals and it appears it still is.

There's this Nast political cartoon from the 1800s showing Catholic cardinals crawling ashore looking like alligators.

Some folks just can't get over it can they?

Like an African-American friend of mine told a homeowners association meeting about their rejection of his idea of converting 1 fo 35 tennis courts into a basketball court "We're here"! (and that applies to Catholics and those who think Catholics should have a right to live in America and particpate in public life)

I'm an atheist, too, but it's always amusing how terrified of religion people like Soros and MoveOn are. Conformity to their bizarre multiCULTural cult is their religion, they just never recognize it as such.

Ahhh.. the words are ringing in my ears.. Petite little Sr. Mary Francis (42 years ago). "In your life times, you will no longer see a blurry line between evil and good in the world. And you will be forced to chose one side or the other and the choice will be easy; for each side."

I guarantee that if I went to the ACLU and asked them to help in a court case to guarantee the right of my child to get out of the classroom at different periods of the day in order to use her prayer rug to pray towards Mecca, they would be all over it.

Christian religion, alas, is what they fear. All others welcome. What a sad state of affairs.

The majority of Catholic Bishops in the US are not at that point yet.

Words to ponder, no doubt. I've often wondered if we are, today, watching the foundation being laid for something very unpleasant down the road.

all I ever got was the ruler across the knuckles, you had some smart ones.

The majority of Catholic Bishops in the US are not at that point yet.

There were reports that those who showed up wearing rainbow garb on Pentacost Sunday to protest the Church's teaching on homosexuality were denied communion. I think the Bishops know who has taken St. Peter's Throne.

The stupidity of MoveOn.org is truly humours as they are doing far more damage to their party than they know. If they manage to drive off the 46% of catholics who voted democrat, the rats won't even win an election for dogcatcher (even after the fraudulent votes are counted). Almost (and I mean almost) makes me want to send them money to keep up the good work for us.

I'd suggesting being careful about adding keywords to this or any thread. I got suspended a couple days for "keyword abuse" on a short lived ZOT thread by a trigger happy (or vindictive) mod.

Catholic thanks to Don Feder. We will gladly take the point against Soros. Don, if they come for Jews this time, they are going to have to come through us and they aren't going to be very pretty when we get through with them. Catholics have begun their final transition to the GOP when Dubya got a majority. If the Demonrats thought that was a bad result, wait until they see what we have for Ms. Hildebeast.

That is one of many. The artist was quite famous. I think, he is one who took on the corrupt Tammany Hall and Boss Tweed with his editorial cartoons. He also created our modern concept of St. Nicholas.

Now if I could just think of his name......Thomas Nast!!!

This period of our history was a time of virulent anti Catholicism. And yes, it was in our our major and minor papers and in the hearts and on the lips of many of our people.

Anti-Catholic bigotry is nothing new to the Democrat party folks . In the 1920's my grandfather a naturalized citizen had to put up with the Democrats & their friends in the KKK who told him in no uncertain terms that because he was Catholic he wasn't really an American citizen so he was not allowed to vote, If he caused any trouble the Klan might have to pay him a visit & maybe burn a barn or other out building to teach him some manners.

Then comes WWII & of the 13 men who fought for this country from Primrose Nebraska 5 were my uncles after the war when they had returned from the service they Basile told the Democrat party boss that my grandfather was gonna get to vote or they would tear the place apart starting with them . Grandpa got to vote !

A willingness to look some bastard in the eye & say I am gonna vote you try & stop me I will gladly clean your friggin clock . Until the rank & file GOP get this attitude the RAT party will keep up the bigotry .
