"Aren't they all using the Euro now instead of their respective countries currency?"
Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain have all joined the single currency.
Still Sterling here in Britiain, and long may it remain so. (I'm feeling quietly optimistic about it at the moment.)
Hey how about that new Dr Who show!!!
They will listen about as well as the dimmy dems have been listining. All of them are tone deaf.
"Hey how about that new Dr Who show!!!"
A definite improvment on the old model. Anything that can keep 8 million Brits out of the pub on a Saturday evening is doing something right.
I have enjoyed the first 10 or so episodes (I get them as they become available on file sharing systems). I like the 1970s-1980s Doctor Whos myself (Tom Baker & Peter Davison, especially), and I feared for the worst when the new series was announced.
Turned out they are handling it pretty well, with good stories and a nice balance in terms of special effects (not too over-the-top and just a bit cheezy, which is exactly where 'The doctor' should be). The actor playing The Doctor is very good, also, and I was sorry to hear he is leaving the show after the first season's worth of 13 eps.
Just letting you know some of us appreciate and admire The Doctor here in the colonies, and have for decades! (I also love Benny Hill and The Goodies, but surprise my friends with my lack of interest in Monty Python - go figure!)
Cheerio!
In every vote on the European constitution by a national legislature it has been approved.
In every direct popular vote on the European constitution it has been rejected.
I hate to post this because I can't swear to it, but I think Spain's ratification was by national referendum.
"In every direct popular vote on the European constitution it has been rejected."
Not quite. If I remember correctly Spain voted yes in a referendum.
Still, these last two referenda are welcome, and I hope they spell the end of the EU constitution.
It seems the post I saw was in error.
I wasn't aware of the popular vote in Spain.
I wonder if that was recently.
In this case perhaps it was an overly inconcise constitution that didn't have meaning for the people that would be incorporated under it.
Americans are uniquely blessed in the heritage and brilliant legacy of our Founding Fathers, the Constitution they worked so hard to gift to us, and most of all their infinite wisdom and sacrifice for our freedom and liberty.
The elites who undertook the job of preparing the EURO Constitution, lived high on the hog in comfortable luxurious surroundings and expended a lot of ink saying a lot, but not really saying anything at all.
Our Founding Fathers gave pledged their sacred honor, fortune, their lives for America and her Consitution.
