Iran's victory over N. Korea leads to mass celebration and unrest
Iran's victory of 1-0 over N. Korea's soccer team has resulted in a mass celebration, expression of joy and unrest despite all official injunctions and massive security presence.
Clashes happened at the end of the game at Azadi ('Freedom') Stadium as militiamen intended to stop happy fans from expressing joy. Orders were given that fans should avoid being joyful as it's the anniversary of the death of the regime's founder.
Other reports are stating about sporadic clashes in several areas of the Capital as thousands of Iranians are getting into streets and main squares, such as, Haft-Hoze, Tajrish, Toopkhaneh and Madar. Teharns' suburbs of Karaj, Rey and Eslamshahr are also scenes of early joy and sporadic unrests.
In most cases the clashes are happening as militiamen intend to stop mass celebration.
Girls have been seen taking off their mandatory veil and dancing.
Heavy traffic jam are forming in Capital's main avenues which will create serious complication for regime agents to control the crowd.
Sporadic clashes have also been reported from cities, such as, Esfahan, Shiraz, Hamdean and Oroomiah (former Reza-ie).
The night will be long and is just beginning.DoctorZin Update:

Meanwhile, all the members of the losing team from North Korea were promptly executed for disappointing the Supreme Illustrious Dictator-in-Chief....
This is series! Hugh even! It could lead to nuclear war!
"Orders were given that fans should avoid being joyful as it's the anniversary of the death of the regime's founder."
Sounds like a good reason to be joyful to me!
Most of the sports writers who regularly cover the Axis of Evil League sports (the NYT has 127 staff that cover the AoE League, I believe) didn't give North Korea much hope to start with, so the win by the Iranian team, the "No-Pork-Mullahs," isn't such a big deal. The North Korean team, the "Kim-Jung-Ill-Is-Our-Sacred-Pathers," are known to be weak from months of starvation rations.
The positive aspect of the Pathers loss is, that, when their security babysitters get them home, party leaders of at least a certain rank, will be able to shoot at the losers in a team practice, in lieu of a meal.
I sort of wish that ESPN would carry Axis of Evil League sports.
Damnnnnn when did Raider nation invaded Tehran Iran LOL!

Are you sure this isn't already a part of the WWF?
Gosh, I'd love to see one of these students smack a mullah
over the head with a folding chair!
"Girls have been seen taking off their mandatory veil and dancing."
Oh, the horror!
So the regime tries to stop celebrating because the day marked an anniversary of "the regime's founder", (I wonder what's gonna happen to the girls who took off their veils, I don't think it will be a pretty sight). Too bad nobody cares about the death of "the regime's founder" because he created the cesspool that is Islamic Iran. America, don't ever let this happen to you.
BTW, I don't even want to think about what happens when their soccer team LOSES a game. If Uday Hussein is any indication...
LOL, I was just getting ready to post the same thing. Were the fans celebrating the win or the regime "founder's" death! ;-)

How DARE they want to have fun and be happy! This is soccer, and it's not supposed to be fun. Well it's a good thing the government cracked down, who knows where this kind of unsanctioned frivolity could lead too.
Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi in Paris, Yesterday!
