3 Corner FReep of Code Pink at Walter Reed, July 15 (Heavy graphics, Join us July 22!)
DC Chapter ^ | July 20, 2005 | BillF

Posted on 07/19/2005 11:45:01 PM PDT by BillF

Code Pink is stuck in a quagmire and sinking fast as evidenced by, among other things, FReepers outnumbering them 2 to 1 most of the evening of Friday night, July 15.  The enormity of what is happening must be appreciated.  Code Pinkos are holding a weekly anti-war protest at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the liberal bastion of Washington, DC, a city filled with left wing activists. Yet, the Pinkos have been outnumbered for seven weeks in a row, aside from about ten minutes 4 or 5 weeks ago when they briefly held the numerical edge.

Considering conservatives' traditional reluctance to protest or counter-protest and the liberal nature of the DC area, it was almost inconceivable that FReepers would ever be able to equal the Pinkos numbers, let alone surpass them. And yet FReepers of the DC Chapter and FReepers from elsewhere have consistently outnumbered the Pinkos for seven weeks.

Apart from the above considerations, it's always easier to get people to demonstrate against a status quo (i.e., Pinkos want to abandon the fight against terrorists in Iraq) than to get people to demonstrate in favor of a policy that is being implemented.

In spite of all the reasons that Code Pink should be outnumbering us dramatically, they are not. They are failing badly and we are succeeding beyond our wildest dreams in both doing good and having fun. And our success will be that much greater when you (you know who you are) join us to peacefully oppose the Pinkos next Friday night.

Do you think that the Pinkos are sicko to have an anti-war demonstration at a hospital holding war-wounded? Then please help us by showing next Friday night per details below.

This was Fourteenth Fabulous Fun FReep of the Code Pinkos as FReepers continue to frustrate the Pinkos evil scheme. Pinkos want to fake friendship with soldiers in hopes of finding one or more who, vulnerable in their wounded state, can be manipulated into joining the anti-war movement and breaking faith with their fellow troops. Many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken to Walter Reed for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The Pinkos other goal is too demoralize those wounded troops.

As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site before the FReep was under way.

The honor roll of those in attendance: Angelwood, AlwaysFree, tgslTakoma, Albion Wilde,

Justanobody, Apple Blossom, daughter of Apple Blossom, bmwcyle, daughter of bmwcyle, Jack Deth, Gadsdenman, Nina0113, Doctor Raoul, BufordP, kristinn, and BillF.  This was a record turnout for us and caused us to spread out among all three available corners, Pinkos being on the other corner.

CLICK ON A PHOTO (except those marked "not linked") TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW. Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos marked with an asterisk are great photos taken by Gadsdenman.

Photos will be interspersed in the report. As it got progressively darker, the telephoto lens shots became less clear requiring software enhancement. You will notice that people look more like cartoon characters in the later telephoto lens photos.

Opposed to our sixteen patriots, the leftists peaked at ten America-hating traitors, but had eight or less during most of the 2 hour window that the Pinkos designate for their troop-hating bash. The first Pinko and the signs arrived on site only 8 minutes late, about the same time as last week. They peaked at nine troop-haters early on, but then two left. Then one of the two returned. Two more joined them to reach ten for a short period. Then 3 left with half an hour to go, leaving them with seven.

As mentioned in earlier reports, the Pinkos are treating this as a job that they don't like. They show up late (photo below) and leave early or right at their announced stop time. I'm starting to wonder if George Soros is getting cheated by some of these Pinkos.

It's 8 pm. George Soros, do you know where your America-hating traitors are? Pinkos were late again. (not linked)

Gael Murphy, the chief DC Pinko, who totally lost it at last week's FReep, was a no-show on this night.  Perhaps, she was in Iraq delivering supplies to "the other side" as Chief Pinko Medea Benjamin has in the past.

Early FReep line with (L-R), kristinn, Nina0113, Angelwood, BufordP, Justanobody, AlwaysFree, tgslTakoma,
and Doctor Raoul around one of tgslTakoma's great MOABs (Mother of All Banners).

A heavy rainstorm swept through only a few hours before the FReep. Dark clouds made it darker earlier than usual in the night, but DC Chapter's good luck with the weather held out as the rain was gone.

As in past weeks, we continue getting many more honks of appreciation than the leftists. They have improved their motorist feedback by using a "Save Walter Reed" sign, a sign that doesn't relate to any of their issues. If they put up a "Go Washington Nationals" sign in honor of the city's baseball team, they will get even more meaningless honks. However,  if they want people to love them for who they really are, they will hold up a "We Support the Iraqi Resistance." Of course, they conceal that from the troops that they seek to mislead, even though it was revealed on their web site (see here and here).

Leftists near full strength

"Save Walter Reed" sign gets honks of support, but has
nothing to do with their other signs.

"Front Line to Back Door" sign is the only sign even remotely
connected with their falsely stated purpose of their protest, i.e.,
night-time admissions of patients.

A sure sign of a successful FReep is when the leftists give you half a peace sign, otherwise known as a one-finger salute. We got at least two fingers as shown below.

I just hope that they all don't give us the finger at the same time. That would be quite upsetting.

"Pink finger" reaches back to
junior high in reacting to us.

Other Pinko is easily amused.

Pinko eunuch joins in   .

Except when they used their fingers, the leftists seemed, well, kind of down. As seen by comparing the two below photos, the FReepers were in a much better frame of mind, enjoining themselves and the incredibly positive reaction, especially considering the left-wing nature of DC.

Frowns were on the leftists' faces most of the night. *
(* Asterisk indicates a Gadsdenman photo. He had
a wonderful camera for taking distance night photos.)

bmwcyle and Gadsdenman are happy, unlike the Pinkos

At one point during the FReep, we noticed one of the Pinkos visibly counting the numbers on our side. Shortly thereafter, the Pinko on the right side of the left above photo spent a lot of time on a cell phone call. Perhaps, he was begging others to show up, maybe the tin-foil hat wearing wacko from the previous two weeks, "OK, if you show up, I agree that you can hold your sign implying that Bush is behind the London terror bombings. Just show up."

FReep line as seen from end closest Doctor Raoul.

kristinn, Nina0113, and Angelwood

BufordP, Apple Blossom, and tgslTakoma across Georgia
Ave from the leftists, on the corner across the side street
from our main force

Another great night distance photo of leftists from Gadsdenman *

I wasn't sure what this leftists' sign meant until her little friend
showed up. Looks like Pinkos had to recruit from outside the
country. Another illegal alien helping the left.

Angelwood, BillF and Doctor Raoul across the
side street from our main force and directly across
Georgia Ave from the Pinkos *

Using my camera, diagonally across the intersection, I captured this photo of
tgslTakoma, Gadsdenman, and BufordP. Counting the corner with the
MOAB, we were occupying three corners, while the Pinkos were on one.

The highlight of the evening was early on when a Walter Reed patient, who had served about 18 months in Baghdad, brought us two bottles of champagne. We thanked him, but did not want to open the champagne (DC laws against public drinking) and also did not think that he should be giving us gifts. After all, he and the other troops are the heroes who keep us free. We're there to thank them. He agreed to share the champagne with his buddies.

There was little interaction with the leftists. Doctor Raoul said something to the Pinkos across the street about their contribution to "the other side." One of the Pinko eunuch's responded with "go back to Russia." The Doctor of FReep said, "May I stay at your place?"

When two of the Pinko women walked past us to get to their car, Raoul said something like, "you don't look like baby-killers and yet you support the Iraqi terrorists, who blew up and killed those 24 kids a few days ago." The Pinkos didn't respond, but I know what they would have said if they had responded. They would have blamed our troops for giving out candy to the children. They wouldn't blame the terrorists.

The same FReepers are doing almost all of the these FReeps. We do so gladly as a labor of love for our brave troops fighting terrorists over there, instead of waiting for them to come here. We do it especially for those wounded in combat.  However, some FReepers' work obligations, family vacations or other obligations may prevent some of them from coming this next Friday. Will this be the time that you get out from behind the keyboard and FReep in person?

FReepers are winning the public relations battle with Code Pink at Walter Reed, a location that should not be used for war protests. We need your help to continue.

We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" is one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun and important for our troops and our nation.

For those of you in the DC area, we need some additional FReepers to join us for FReeping Code Pink every Friday night, until further notice, starting at 7:30 pm and until about 10 pm. How about coming out this Friday?

Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?

DC Chapter co-leader kristinn has confirmed that we shall continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to demonstrate at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.

One of the amputees told me weeks back that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.

Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.

Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.

As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.

Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Start at 7:30 pm and go to about 10 pm.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW

Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate.

DC Chapter ping!

FReepmail me or post a reply to get on or off the list.

Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?

If you're in the DC area and don't have family or work considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?

CORRECTED PARAGRAPH BELOW(I botched the bolding and had an irregular paragraph break in the paragraph with the honor roll.)

I'd be there in a second if I lived anywhere near DC.

Alas, I'll have to be there with you in spirit.

OUTSTANDING WORK, DC FREEPERS!

sauropod usually has his video camera, but he couldn't make it last Friday.

Hope that he can attend this coming Friday.

I used to bring my video camera to FReeps and even posted some of the videos, but it's hard to take many photos (I probably take 3 or 4 times as many photos as I use) and also operate a video camera. I have an audio recorder and you can listen to a sound file from last week's confrontation with DC Chief Pinko here (76 sec, 826 K) and read last week's report here.

Thanks once again for the outstanding job well done.

I am amazed that the media isn't there covering this. How about calling up FOX News. The outrage from the general public at Code Pink would be huge.

Keep it up!

Nice pics! Is it me, or are the Code Pink signs getting more and more tame? Still detestible, but not as overt as earlier protests IIRC.

Some of us speculate as to whether the Code Pinkos are receiving a stipend for their efforts. They'll probably continue to stand on that corner until the money dries up.

It was probably better than the pizza that KBR serves in the chow hall here.
I'm not criticizing the food. I'm saying that sometimes it's just not very good.

I wonder if I've met a detainee that received money from the Pinkos....
