The Heart of Texas Chapter is planning a return to Crawford on Saturday, August 27. Our purpose this time will be to team up with the Move America Forward Caravan, which will originate in California, and pick up supporters from across the country. We hope that with this much advance notice, more Freepers will be able to join us this time.
I have spent most of the day trying to contact someone at MAF, but they are so busy they haven't gotten back to me yet. However, it shouldn't be hard to notice a caravan of buses and cars in Crawford, so we will be able to jump in with them with no problem.
I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back. We won't need a permit this time, as we will be a tag on to the MAF permit.
Everyone with suggestions for signs, tactics, etc. please chime in. This will be another Support the Troops Rally--but MAF will probably get in a little Sheehan bashing--which is fine with me!
I'm wondering if I can make 3 weekends in a row. I want to go to A/M this weekend. I'm really thinking about going back the 27 th though. The only obstacle is telling hubby.
The rally continues:') I'm a sorry excuse of a freeper. I found out at the last minute and stopped and picked up a few signs at Walmart and some markers. When I got to the rally I couldn't find the markers. I then left my blank signs somewhere.
Where were/are yall? I really like the "brave" one.

I read about Deborah Johns' and movingamericaforward.org's trip to Crawford for a rally on 8/27/05 and decided that my hubby and I will be there. We live in East Texas and as my husband is a pilot, we will fly out of Mt. Pleasant to the airport in Waco where I'm sure they have a car they will loan us to drive the 30 miles to Crawford. I AM DETERMINED TO DO THIS.
We need to make sure the time of the rally is CST l-3 PM and the place.
Who owns this land that they've squatted on anyway? If it's private property they should be removed for trespassing. You make a great point about the "crosses" and the ACLU.

Huh??? I can not leave my house without seeing a soldier in uniform: restaurants, grocery store, Wal-Mart, Lowes, car dealership, real estate office ...
Don't get me wrong - I love seeing them. I have become more pro-active in that I walk up to them and thank them for their service or quietly pay their tab as I leave.
