August 17 (El Paso) – Amid tears and protests, U.S. Army soldiers today began the forced eviction of millions of residents who would not voluntarily leave southeastern Texas, New Mexical, Arizona and Southern California.
“My family has been here for generations”, said one resident, “and now they want us to pack up and leave as if we were never here. Why?”
Faced with the inability to secure the border with Mexico, the U.S. government has ceded lands back to the country in an effort to stem illegal immigration and repeated border incursions by violent Mexican and Central American gangs.
As despondent lifelong residents packed up their belongings and said tearful farewells to their ranches, businesses, farms and homes, jubilant Mexicans stood just over the border chanting, “Today El Paso, tomorrow, Washington!”
You sure?
Excellent!
Unlike the Israelis, we are doing this on the installment plan.
Actually, President Kennedy did return some land to Mexico in the El Paso area (El Chamizal) which apparently had originally been on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande but had been in US possession for decades.
Good write though.
More Cowbell..........
I got a fever!
