PRESIDENT BUSH IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA - the good guys outnumber the lowlife scumsucking protestors
DFU on the scene | 8-29-05 | dfu

Posted on 08/29/2005 4:59:45 PM PDT by doug from upland

Under absolutely oppressive Southern California Inland Empire August heat, the good guys showed up in force to support the President and the troops.

There were a handful of FReepers there that I recognized including bittdrvr, Blurblogger, Joy Angela, Aloha Ronnie, and RonDog. Darn, come on, who am I forgetting?

There had to be perhaps 300 there on our side, and it was refreshing to outnumber the airheads on the other side.

The anti-war, anti-American protestors, not surprisingly had their share of foul mouths and those who smelled badly when they came to our side and walked through the crowd.

It was particularly amusing to see a kid about 16 years old with a sign that said - HANDS OFF MY SOCIAL SECURITY.

They did their typical hey hey ho ho inane chants from the '60s, but they've added a few really clever ones. Over and over a guy with a bullhorn was chanting MONEY FOR JOBS, MONEY FOR FOOD, MONEY FOR JOBS, MONEY FOR FOOD, MONEY FOR SCHOOL, MONEY FOR JOBS.

The war criminal signs and no blood for oil and Bush knew are getting old. Yes, Bush knew. Bush knew what to do.

I was disappointed that I didn't have a bullhorn because the women who controlled the bullhorn on our side didn't want to use some hit 'em in the face chants --- TOJO, HITLER, MUSSOLINI, THEY WOULD LOVE YOU LEFTIST WEENIES. WHINING WEASELS GET A CLUE, THEY WOULD CUT YOUR HEADS OFF TOO.

An AP reporter and a Claremont Courier reporter did an interview with me and took notes. A local cable tv station got some stuff on film. I explained that FreeRepublic was the premier conservative activist site on the Internet. The reason I was there was to support the President and the troops. You don't support the troops if you don't support the mission.

They were also told that, if Islamists were there, they would certainly cut off my head, but they would then march across the street and cut off the leftists heads. The nitwits are clueless. In addition, I told them that from deep in the bowels of hell, Tojo, Hitler, and Mussolini were wondering where these guys were 60 years ago when they could have done them some good.

One very good note. I had a short debate with an opposition member who agreed with going into Afghanistan but not Iraq. When I told him to watch for the proof of the Iraqi connection to the OKC bombing, he made a concession. If that could be proven, he would be on our side of the street next time. I had to call Jayna Davis and pass the word to her.

It was a good, noisy, supportive crowd for the President. Now, sir, please close the borders. If he had, the crowd across the street would have been half the size.

RonDog will post photos when he can.

"We are a country divided," said protester Seana Estalilo, 30, of Ontario.
If we are to believe the 24/7 coverage of the circus in Crawford for the last several weeks, the American people are all UNITED -- in support of Cindy Sheehan, and against President Bush.
THAT claim would have been rather difficult for the left to have made yesterday in Rancho Cucamonga -- in the face of so much evidence to the contrary, so they had to fall back on the "We are a country divided" tripe. :o)

Among the HONOR ROLL for this event were FReepers:
doug from upland
ALOHA RONNIE
Blurblogger
BitDrifter
RonDog
Joy Angela
bbopp
and FRiends:
Genevieve Peters
Pastor Wiley Drake
Ronn Pickard
Obviously, there were MANY MORE folks there whose names I did NOT get.

My best guess that there were 400 to 500 TOTAL people at this event, and that the PRO-Bush forces outnumbered ANTI-Bush crowd by about 3-to-1, possibly 4-to-one.

Not bad, for a MONDAY AFTERNOON, in the middle of NOWHERE (sorry doug and RONNIE!) -- in spite of the OPPRESSIVE heat, and with less than a week's notice. :o)
NEXT time will be even BETTER!
Perhaps in October...

January would be 72 instead of 105. And Bush could come out from the East, see a little sun, warm up. And we wouldn't have to bake.

Nice report Doug. I appreciate you RonDog and the others going out there to support Bush and the troops.

It's about all I can do to avoid thinking a ball bat would go a long way towards raising the IQ of those leftist a.H.s.

Intersection becomes battleground
By MIGUEL GONZALEZ

Staff Writer

RANCHO CUCAMONGA — President Bush might have been thousands of miles away from his ranch in Crawford, Texas, but the scene of protesters and supporters was similar to the one he has at the so-called White House West.

The intersection of Baseline and Milliken roads, in front of the James L. Brulte Center, where the president spoke Monday, was the battleground for a few hundred people to gather and defend their beliefs, some for Bush, some against.

Just in case tempers ran cold, the heat served as adrenaline to fuel both sides.

With signs calling the president a liar and other adjectives, a younger crowd gathered to the west side of Milliken demanding the end of the war in Iraq, gay rights and immigration reform.

"We invaded a country without just cause, and Bush hides behind religion to support killing people," local resident Brad Kramer said.

Rancho Cucamonga resident Douglas Soaley, 20, right, argues with an anti-war, anti Bush protester Monday afternoon in Rancho Cucamonga.
Right across the street from Kramer, resident Andy Lopez and a few hundred people defended the actions of the president and added that the protesters were ignorant in their beliefs.

"My dad fought in the Second World War, and it offends me when they put our military down," Lopez said. "That's why I am here to defend our president."

While local police did a good job maintaining order, many remained after the police cleared the area and a few scuffles were registered by early evening.

Douglas Soaley, a Bush supporter, was involved in a confrontation with a few protesters.

"I am here speaking my mind and they started to insult my family and calling me a racist and nobody is going to do that because I am willing to die for my beliefs," said Soaley.

Jesse Diaz, who is a graduate student at the University of California, Riverside, said Bush supporters were very confused.

"You try having an educated discussion with them and they get upset and start using expletives. There is no point reasoning with them," he said.

Many of the people present in today's rally said that they will be following the Bush tour to San Diego, where he will speak today. There, both sides agreed, the battle to prove their point will continue.

From Reuters:
Protesters on both sides of Iraq war follow Bush

By Jeremy Pelofsky
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Aug 29 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush was greeted by Iraq war supporters and protesters on Monday as he interrupted his Texas vacation to promote a new Medicare prescription drug program.

Hundreds of demonstrators for and against the Iraq war staged protests near Rancho Cucamonga, California, where Bush wove comments on Iraq into a Medicare speech to a group of senior citizens.

Bush said progress was being made in Iraq despite the ongoing attacks on U.S. and Iraqi security forces and Sunni opposition to the draft constitution.

"Success in Iraq is vital for peace ... and therefore the United States of America and our coalition will continue to work with the Iraqis to build a democracy," Bush said.

Outside the event, Bush backers with signs reading "Support Our President" squared off against critics with signs saying: "A Bush War is a Bad War."

Police separated the two sides, which each numbered about 200 people...

From the Associated Press, via www.ocregister.com:
Bush pitches Medicare drug benefit

He urges Southern Californians to look into the plan even if they don't want to sign up.

By LIZ SIDOTI
The Associated Press

RANCHO CUCAMONGA – President George W. Bush tried Monday to drum up support for a Medicare prescription drug benefit that begins next year, encouraging audiences to learn about the plan even if they don't want to sign up.

"Some folks simply don't want any change, and I understand that completely. But I urge you to take a look," the president said at a senior citizens center.

Bush said the program contains many options for consumers. "The more options available, the more likely it is you're going to get what you want," he said.

Focusing on a domestic issue amid rising criticism of his handling of the Iraq war, the president spent the day pitching the benefit program in California and Arizona. He also was traveling to San Diego, where he planned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II with a speech today that would reference the Iraq war.

In Rancho Cucamonga, hundreds of anti-war protesters chanting "Impeach Bush" and carrying signs that said "Bush lies, soldiers die" and "War is terrorism" stood on a corner, while on the opposite corner hundreds of Bush supporters sang "God Bless America" and waved American flags...
