And do we really have a shadow government that answers to no one? Cool, we're all shadow-puppets.

reduced funding for the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by a record $71.2 millionan epic reduction for one fiscal year
Well since this is a deliverate misstatement of the facts, we can safely rule this article as nonsense. They got 71.2 million in PROGRAM cuts. In other words, cuts to money they would spend NEXT year on NEW projects. NOT from their operations budget. Just another looney Leftist spewing his Bush hate.

And this has been a problem that has been discussed about New Orleans for over 10 years. Geez, wasn't that during what's-his-name's tenure?
The LIBS are digging their own graves by politicizing this.

This is especially so in light of the fact that in June of this year the Bush Administration reduced funding for the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by a record $71.2 million Like if he hadn't done that 2 months ago this wouldn't have happened. Paleeeeese....what a moron.
I stopped reading at that sentence.

This is especially so in light of the fact that in June of this year the Bush Administration reduced funding for the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by a record $71.2 millionan epic reduction for one fiscal year. As the Dolan Media news wire reported at the time, The cuts mean major hurricane and flood protection projects will not be awarded to local engineering firms.Of course, it's not like anything could have been done since Camille hit in the past 35 years. Jeez, why don't they just say it in the title: It's BUSH'S FAULT!
So Federal funding for emergency management will need to be allocated towards the recovery process.
Hopefully as salvage operations for business and residential homeowners. Then seal off the city and let the looters feed on themselves.

. . . the Bush Administration reduced funding for the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by a record $71.2 millionan epic reduction for one fiscal year.Which begs the question: If these funds had been allocated and received, would New Orleans be in any better shape today? I don't think so. I think the funds would have been spent on other "priorities." If New Orleans has not been prepared for this over the past four decades, why should anyone believe it would be prepared through this single, albeit substantial, outlay?

Also, a study to determine ways to protect the region from a Category 5 hurricane has now been shelved. Even if this were true, and the funds for this were just cut in June, HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE FOR A FREAKIN STUDY TO BE BID OUT, COMPLETED AND IMPLEMENTED? YEARS

Was it Col Luna or one of the early Soviets who made it to America and went commerical almost immediately...
Said that growing up in Soviet Union...he decided that there
mostly two classes of people ..those in the camps and those
watching those in the camps..
The watchers had better living conditions so he decided it would be smarter to be one of them then one of the detainees.
Is FEMA hiring yet?

We are left with a host of questions. The truth is out there, Agent Mulder.
Let's see, FEMA displayed a feeble level of organization in Hurricane Andrew and they are also a threat to control the USA as a shadow government. They really are incredibly subtle, aren't they?

Actually, this looks like a pretty good move. Do they really think that they could have shored up the levee in two months spending only $71.2M ? That money would have just been wasted trying to study a scenario that no longer exists.
So the question is, if Bush had approved the funding, would this have been prevented or lessened? Of course not. But to a liberal mind, words are all that matters. Results mean nothing.
