Mary Landrieu: I'll Punch Bush, 'Literally'
NewsMax.com ^ | Sept. 4, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."

"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."

It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.

The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."

"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."

Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.

In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

"Who says Hillary is a female, inquiring minds what to know"

That's a very good point, after all, if anybody in the family has nads, it's Hitlery.

Rumor, we only had 2 boats and none were working. The money that was to be used for repairs was spent on boudin.

"The difference between 9/11 and Katerina is that the first responders in 9/11 died for a cause, what did your 'girly girls' police do: QUIT AND RUN!"

Sure throws some yankee vs southerner stereotypes into disarray, doesn't it..."

Despite the name of the baseball team. New York is a life style away from the Teddy K Yankees. To quote Jerry Seinfeld on September 12th, 2001 "This is New York not some Candy Ass Town."

So now the Libassw*pes are physically threatening the President of the United States if he tells the truth on who dropped on ball before, during and the aftermath of the hurricane. I say, "Arrest her immediately!"

They (NO) may not have gotten all the funding they wanted (does anybody ever?) for the levees but I believe they did get several hundred million dollars the last few years.

What did *that* money get spent on?

hold on...I was replying to someone saying that the MSM was starting the blame game, so I was posting examples. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Personally? I think a good chunk of the responsibility lays at the feet of FEMA, and that guy in charge.

Moon, yes I agree. Can ANYONE here tell me what would be the punishment if I, an average, law abiding citizen, made that comment?

Methinks that my a$$ would be throw in jail faster than a NY minute.

"At least our state and local govt are aware of the what can happen now that Texas is overloaded"

Well, Texas also has the death penalty....and is not afraid to use it. Hopefully the evacuees will be mostly gracious guests, but the old saying, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" comes to mind. The new population probably contains a criminal element in proportions similar to the pre-Katrina demographic from whence they came.

So true! Why are Republicans always so tepid & timid about defending Bush and answering these crass attacks by utter incompetents Blanco, Nagin & Landrieu? Yet RINO Repukes will never hesitate to attack Bush or conservative Republicans but will never attack or criticize left-wing DemonCRAPS. For a change I wish that some of Bush's supporters would go after these rabid DemonCRAPS with a vengence and STOP always being such timid weenies!!!

I agree, let's keep it civil. When I first started trolling around on this site a couple years ago, it wasn't like this. People seldomly cussed and didn't pick fights over spelling errors.

I'm afraid FR is becoming a right wing version of DU.

Look at what that mean awful Bush did. He made her cry.

The caterwauling is only going to get more shrill. It has to in order to try to deflect attention from the inaction, incompetence and downright dereliction of duty on the part of the state and local governments.

I'll tell you one thing: Seeing these women act like, well, little women is going to keep anyone with a lick of sense from voting for Hillary.

Sometimes clouds have silver linings...I sure wouldnt want a woman President to take on terrorists..what would they do, have a temper tantrum and cry?
