Analyzing the Zogby poll released on September 8 2005 (Zogby lying about his own poll results)

The now infamous pollster John Zogby came out yesterday, Sep/8/05 with a poll where he thinks that President Bush is doing very bad by using a very negative spin of the poll results and baltant lies so it will be viewed as a bad thing for President Bush. Link: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1480588/posts?page=113,13

Let us take these two tables from the Zogby poll and analyze:

From Zogby:

President Bush’s Job Approval Hits All-Time Low Positive Excellent Good Negative Fair Poor

9-07-05 41 (Positive) 15 (Excellent) 26 (Good) 59 (Negative) 22 (FAIR) 37 (Bad)

7-30-05 45 19 26 55 27 28

6-22-05 44 15 29 56 22 34

5-25-05 46 18 28 53 23 30

4-18-05 46 19 27 53 23 30

2-25-05 47 21 26 53 22 31

2-14-05 50 24 26 50 18 32

Voters Disapprove Handling of All But War on Terror President’s

Handling of Issue Positive Excellent Good Negative Fair Poor Not sure

War on Terrorism 52 (Positive) 25 (Excellent) 27 (Good) 47 (Negative) 18 (FAIR) 29 (Bad) 1 (Not sure)

Taxes 40 16 24 59 25 34 1

War in Iraq 40 14 26 59 14 45 1

Foreign Policy 39 13 26 59 25 34 2

Jobs and the economy 38 12 26 61 25 36 1

Hurricane Katrina 36 12 24 60 17 43 4

Environment 36 8 28 60 20 40 4 Education 39 11 28 59 27 32 2

Social Security and Medicare 31 8 23 67 28 39 2

Healthcare 30 7 23 67 27 40 3

Gas Prices 21 7 14 73 26 47 6

You notice how Zogby is considering “FAIR” as negative attribute so he can push down President Bush number. "FAIR" is not negative. President Bush will be doing very well in all categories since "FAIR" lean more positive and definitely it is not negative. Even if we consider as many as half of the people who say “FAIR” as a negative, President Bush will still be doing GOOD in almost all the categories.

Zogby is the most biased pollster in history and he is the most overrated one. He has been wrong so many times that he lost his credibility, his 2004 extremely biased polling and very wrong predictions killed his reputation. This poll is not interactive through the internet as Zogby usually conducts his polls where he can really make unbelievable bias in his polling. This one was conducted via the phone and despite incredible bias effort from Zogby for this poll to come against President Bush he failed miserably to do so. So he is now spinning "FAIR" as a negative thing. Just UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Let us take another portion of the poll regarding the government performance (federal, local, and state) to hurricane Katrina.

From Zogby:

Just one-in-three (32%) voters say that the government response to Hurricane Katrina was adequate, while two-thirds (66%) rate the response negatively. Among those holding a negative view of the government response, President Bush bears the brunt of public criticism, with one-in-four (27%) voters saying he most deserves the blame for inadequate government response. Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown comes in next in overall criticism, with 22% blaming him. However, the combined total blaming Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco (15%) and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (8%), the senior state and local officials, respectively, is slightly higher than those blaming Brown, with 23% placing the blame on the two Louisiana figures. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, meanwhile, comes in at 8%, while 9% blame other government officials. It is worth noting that among the one-in-three voters who have a favorable view of the government response, an overwhelming 40% credit the president, while 16% credit Brown, 12% credit Blanco, 6% credit Nagin, and 7% credit Chertoff.

This is just unbelievable how Zogby is spinning this in a negative way against the President.

Let us analyze, shall we.

66% of voters respond "negatively" to government response in hurricane Katrina. Again if he includes "FAIR" as negative then he is flat out lying. Now let us go further and take the figure that 27% from the 66% blame President Bush for the hurricane response, this means only 18% of the total people who are polled blame President Bush! Only 18%! This indeed is very close to what CNN/USATODAY/GALLUP poll found yesterday that only 13% blame the President for the whatever called negative performance for hurricane Katrina.

Folks this Zogby guy is just a delusional left wing moonbat, despite all his effort to extremely skew the polls and make a very negative spin of the results against President Bush, the numbers still favor the President.

Zogby needs to go back to his all internet interactive polling so he can skew the polls to get any results he wants. The phone polling despite all his attempt to skew it and make it bias still did not come up to what he wanted so he went into trashing his own poll and out an incredible negative spin on it to push down President Bush number. As usual ZOGBY FAILED MISERABLY.

I have a novel idea.

Ignore the polls, permanently!

Zogby has no credibility. He was interviewed on a San Francisco radio station the evening of election day 2004 saying that Kerry had won easily. This was as the same time MSM was projecting Bush victories in key states based on actual vote results. The guy is a Dem shill.

FAIR would probably be the vote of an independent, Libertarian, or disgruntled PaleoCon. Poll is actually pretty good even if you split the fair.

I'm impressed the author could even tell where the poll bias ended and the data massage began. Zogby has become bad enough at his job to become amusing rather than dangerous.

Thank you. The above analysis is just a simple observation.

I think that Zogby is from Lebanese Christian descent but this means absolutely nothing since he still is a left wing liberal nut. He is an "Arabist" i.e. morons who believe in one Arab unified world that will destroy Israel. He is for sure an anti-semite, anti-Republican, anti-Bush, anti-American.

I think that generic "disapproval" numbers are often useless. I disapprove of various things that George W. Bush has done but my "disapproval" means something very different than the disapproval of a leftist. I would never vote for Kerry, for example, while the leftist would. And just because someone disapproves of Bush's handling of Iraq does not necessarily mean that they support pulling out. It could mean that they want to see more force applied in Iraq. So I question the usefulness of any raw "approve" or "disapprove" rating that doesn't explain the disapproval.
