In the Washington, DC area, there are two Monday-Friday newspapers that are distributed for free: The Express, which is owned by the Washington Post, and The Examiner, which has three different editions, one each for Virginia, Maryland, and DC. The papers target commuters on the Metro subway system and buses. They are distributed in boxes on sidewalks and at Metro stations.
Both newspapers ran pictures from the pro-military rally on Sunday on their front pages. You can view pdf versions of these papers at the following links:
September 26 Express
September 26 Examiner

I watched the entire 4 1/2 hour rally on C-Span. The newspapers and MSM are making a big thing out of the difference in attendance between the two rallies. The difference is one that was widely advertised and attended by not just anti-war activists, but also hate-Bush, hate-US first, pro-socialist and other similar groups. It had big money backers and probably professional protesters.
Ours, on the other hand, was truly a grassroots effort. I would have liked to see a similar size crowd as attended the one in Crawford, but it didn't happen. I'm sure it was more than 400, but the small size did not diminish the message. I just hope the Gold Star families are not disheartened by the turnout.

Big picture of Commies and Traitors in the Examiner. One smaller picture of a real grieving mother (for our side).
Way back in the first one - says only 400 pro-troop Americans showed up. The front page was better (no commies/traitors in BIG photo at least)

It's ironic that the Express, the Washington Post-lite paper, has the better pic.

My wife and I attended. I was a little disappointed in the size of the crowd, but when I read that Cindy only had 29 loyal followers on Saturday I felt a little better. The rest of the 100,000 were "the usual suspects" who turn out to protest anything and everything. They are perpetually stuck on stupid.
By the way, my son is in transit to Afghanistan. Prayers, please.

Prayers for your son, along with heartfelt gratitude for what he is doing. Don't worry. His brothers will watch out for him, too.

Fox News last night showed some great clips of the"anti-war" a.n.s.w.e.r. rally, showing the public what a bunch of hateful moonbats they are. They also labeled Answer as what they are- Communists. Husband told me CNN also came out and said who's behind Answer (WWP) which is surprising to say the least lol.

It's a start, although I am continually amazed, although never surprised, that one Gold Star mother who is against the war gets 500 times the publicity than 500 Gold Star mothers who support the war.
