DELAY [Mark R. Levin] Here's my first take on this indictment (I've only read the indictment and nothing more for now): The indictment is three pages in length. Other than a statement that "one or more" of 3 individuals, including Tom DeLay, entered into an illegal conspiracy, I can't find a single sentence tying Tom DeLay to a crime. That is, there's not a single sentence tying DeLay to the contribution. The indictment describes the alleged conduct of two other individuals, but nothing about DeLay. You would think if Ronnie Earle had even a thin reed of testimony linking DeLay to the contribution, it would have been noted in the indictment to justify the grand jury's action. Moreover, not only is there no information about DeLay committing acts in furtherance of a conspiracy, there's no information about DeLay entering into a conspiracy. I honestly believe that unless there's more, this is an egregious abuse of prosecutorial power. It's a disgrace. I understand that not everything has to be contained in an indictment, but how about something! Posted at 01:58 PM
thanks for the information!
Mark is speaking on Hannity's radio show right now.
Thank you for the clarity
We have the same thing going on here in KY. The democratic attorney general is going after the Republican govenor and his administration. Basically it is related to hiring of merit employees. The law is vague and the dems have done the same thing for years. But let us get the first republican govenor in 40 years, and all of a sudden, its a crime. Our govenor (Fletcher) pardoned everyone, even for future indictments. Of course the dem AG just keeps the grand jury going. Eventually they will probably indict the govenor himself.
If it's true what I heard earlier today, than it's getting to the point were I can no longer support some of these people. I heard that it was the Bush prosecutors who argued for leniency with Sandy Burglar. So much so, that it was the Judge who imposed the stiffer penalties (Community Service, etc). I'm past being sick of the new tone by BushCo. as Democrats (and the media) just continue to roll over Republicans.
These are literally life and death battles for the direction of this country and Republicans continue to show that they don't have the spine to fight. What's ironic is that this is the party who insists we can't show weakness in our resolve to fight terrorism, lest we continue to be victims of it. Yet, I see just the opposite when it comes to Republicans dealing with Democrats as they continue to show weakness...and getting hammered for it. It should be obvious these people don't want to be our friends.
Heheh. Wonder what it'd be called. An "affirmative come-and-get-me"?
DeLay is smart to avoid "legal defenses," and instead focus on the substance of the underlying charge. But it is a weird sideline to the indictment.
Funny how often the Moveon.org "conservatives" constantly envoke Ronald Regan's name while totally ignoring his 11th Commandment
Thou shall speak no ill of other Republicans
Funny how the Moveon.org "conservatives" spend all their time ranting an raving at what is supposedly their own side.
Yes, Rather did..
Does the name Kay Bailey Hutchinson sound familiar?
Oh, sure. And I have news for them.
Fiscal conservatism is not traditionally summed up in the words, "Keep your paws OFF MY Money".
The latter slogan bears little marked difference to the left, only they move toward the opposite extreme of Government "GIMME". It's nothing more glamorous than greed, selfishness and self centerness on either side.
I'd like a little more discussion of what fiscal conservatism really stands for, less on single centered rhetoric.
The latter group you cite I just confronted, obviously. What gets me is the blatant disingeunous argument. No one is exactly alike first of all. Second, if you are going to contend they are all alike certainly you should be able to prove it. If you can't, the readers of the thread will indict you for your grandstanding rhetoric unbased in any Truth.
Earle indited Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Why don't you look up how well he did on that one.
They should have done something years ago with Earl.
I first told him that if Delay did something wrong, then he should pay for it. I then reminded him that Teddy Kennedy is still a US Senator, just for contrast.
Who do you think done it to her?
All an indictment means is that a grand jury found enough evidence to go ahead with a trial. I'm not saying DeLay is guilty of the charges.
