KEYWORDS: 73; 74; 75; 76; 77; arnold; ca; california; calinitiatives; capropositions; elections; gop; poll; propositions; republican; republicans; schwarzenegger; specialelection; surveyusa; voting
There are more Initiatives, as I have only given a partial list of what will be on the ballot just a few days from now.

Looks like Arnold's initiatives may be pulling ahead for good.

1.) Parental Notification and 3.) Union Dues -- Political Contributions are way ahead and when averaging all of the polls going back to 6/13-19 for both it is clear that both of them will pass.

The Public School Teachers Tenure Initiative is a little tighter, though, but the average spread from 6/13-19 up until now is still +10.

"Looks like Arnold's initiatives may be pulling ahead for good."

We don't look at them as Arnolds initiatives, they are ours, the taxpayers that put them together, got them signed and put on the ballot.

Or legislature has totally failed us here and we are The People finally running out government. Arnold just jumped on the band wagon but, we are glad that he did.

These Initatives, especially 2 & 3, and the Parental Notification Cons. Amend., may be a good blueprint for Republicans to follwo in 06 and 08.

I'm not going to haggle with you over who's they are, but I didn't see these initiatives on the scene and having this momentum until now - with Arnold in the picture.

Right?

You're absolutely right Laissez-faire capitalist. It took a leader like Arnold to get things going.

Watch my AWESOME VIDEO here and send it out to everyone you know in California:

We had to qualify them some time back, it is simply now getting press coverage because the election is coming up soon and the MSM and liberals in the state are losing.

The Teachers union is really upset on their prop and have had to take a new 40 million dollar loan based on an additional fee to each union member of $60.00 and they are going to lose on this one.

Next up, the courts. The government unions will not hear of the people telling them what to do.

Each time, and if and when, the courts step in and usurp the will of the people it is only going to bring down the courts approval ratings across America as a whole. Little by little this is happening as polls have shown.

Ultimately, this could lead to reforming the Judiciary, since Congress has the power to limit the range and scope of the Appeals Court's and District Court's.

From what I have been told, Congress could even limit the Supreme Court to one person.

Well, I'm not in CA, but I think I'm safe in saying that if Arnold was not behind this, you'd be sunk.

Question..what are the odds that when they all pass, a federal court will block some of them...after all, it's happened before? Actually, given the present argument over the state of the judiciary, it might be a "good thing" if the special interest left/lib groups go forum shopping for a sympathetic judge, and manage to get a stay..

1) So let's see...the American left doesn't trust a minor girl with a gun, getting her ears pierced, smoking, drinking, joining the military, (in a lot of states) driving and so on and so forth.

But they WILL trust them with abortion? How screwy is that?

(Sarcasm on)

3) NO!!!! Labor Unions having to ASK the petty peasants they represent for approval before supporting political issues? How disgusting! We all know the people can't be trusted (that's why we need Liberals.) What is the world coming too?

This is sick. Next thing you know the people of CA will be demanding that the illegal immigrant vote be thrown out.

(/sarcasm)

Terrific News!

I hope it will be this way in the actual election.

We need those reforms.

Here is some info for those trying to decide how to vote:

Voting recommendations from Tom McClintock

#73 – YES
#74 – YES
#75 – YES
#76 – YES
#77 – YES
#78 – NO
#79 – NO
#80 – NO

Proposition 73: Parental Notification for Abortion. If parental consent is required for a child to use a tanning booth or get her ears pierced, shouldn’t parents at least be notified if she’s getting an abortion? YES. Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice, this should be the all-time no-brainer.

Proposition 74: Teacher Tenure. Do parents have a right to expect a higher level of competence before a teacher is granted life-time tenure? YES. This modest measure simply increases the teacher probation period from two years to five years.

Proposition 75: Public Employee Union Dues. Should public employees decide for themselves which candidates they will support with their own money? YES. This measure requires that before a public employee union can take money from that employee for political donations, it has to get the employee’s permission.

Proposition 76: State Spending. Should government live within its means? YES. This measure restores the authority that the governor of California had between 1939 and 1983 to make mid-year spending cuts whenever spending outpaces revenue without having to return to the legislature.

Proposition 77: Re-districting. Should voters choose their representatives in legislative districts that are drawn without regard to partisan advantage? YES. The most obvious conflict of interest in government is when politicians choose which voters will get to vote for them by drawing their own legislative district lines. This measure puts a stop to it.

Propositions 78 and 79: Prescription drug discounts. Do you want the same people who run the DMV to run your pharmacy? NO. These are rival measures, one supported by drug companies and the other by liberal activists – both of which purport to lower drug prices. What they really do is assure that one group of patients gets to pay higher prices to provide subsidized prices for others. There’s no such thing as a free Levitra.

Proposition 80. Electricity Regulation. Do you want the same people who run the DMV to run your electricity company? NO. This measure locks in monopoly control of your electricity by the bureaucratized utilities and forbids you from ever being able to shop around for the lowest-priced electricity available.

Wow. This looks like the worst case scenario for the radical liberal activists in this state. Since the MSM and the Legislature had already completely written off the Gov., this could be an incredible comeback story.

..the RCP polling data shows 73-77 in trouble. I was encouraged by Tom McClintock's comments on KFI the other day, though. This California's last chance IMHO.

The opposition outspent Arnold.
That's telling you something.

There still is hope, though.
