Threat of Burning Christians Alive! (Prayers and help needed)
My e-mail | 11/12/05 | Pastor.Johnson Mathews

JMM Urgent Prayer] November 12, 2005 Dear Friend in Christ,

I am asking you today to pray for an extremely critical situation. More than 60 new believers in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh are being threatened with death if they do not convert back to Hinduism! It is not enough that they escaped the spiritual bondage that has oppressed their people for centuries, but now radical Hindus have threatened to burn alive any Christians who do not return to their former slavery.

Here is what happened: On November 4, a pastor was attacked and severely beaten by a group of militants who threatened his life. Now the same group says they will conduct a puja (ritual) on November 20 to forcefully convert the Christians in his church to Hinduism--and burn alive any who do not renounce their new faith.

The pastor has filed a complaint with local police, but the area is dominated by a large temple to the Hindu god Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims come to the temple, so Hinduism is important to the local economy. It is not clear if the police will take any action to protect the Christians.

What is most important now is that we pray for this situation. I urge you to pray for the protection of the men, women and children in that place who have committed their lives to Christ. Pray that God will surround them with His angels and turn back any violence. Please also pray for their attackers, that their hearts will be softened and that God will work a miracle in their lives.

Imagine what a powerful force for good they could become if they surrendered their lives to the Living God instead of gods that do not hear them!

Please share this request with your church and your friends. This is a spiritual battle, and only through prayer and fasting will the enemy be defeated in this stronghold.

I thank you for being a part of what God is doing in Asia. Thank you, most of all, for standing with us and with our brothers and sisters in Himachal Pradesh during this challenging time.

Yours for the lost of Asia,

Pastor.Johnson Mathews

Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu are all separate like the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost are different, but still one. The "Hindu" Trinity is much like the Christian Trinity.

There is one underlying reality that is Brahman. One reality that is God and God alone.

"What we never see here (and won't see) are the articles about evangelical Pastors and/or their sons raping their young Indian "converts.""

Not to mention pedophiles posing missionaries in places like Goa, Orissa and South India. A few of them made such hue and cry on camera for the western Christian media while being deported after being caught indulging in indecent acts. They even questioned India's religious freedom.

Its a matter of courtesy and decency that "guests" dont do things the locals dont like no matter how innocent their intentions maybe. Only missionaries dont seem to take a hint. And this is what happens when they dont and the locals take matters in their own hands.

This is why I believe foreign Missionaries must not be allowed inside India.

If spirituality is the need of the hour, then US needs Christianity more than India. When it comes to spirituality, India is far richer than any country on this planet.

"I heard KP Yohannan talk about this on the radio this evening. Looks like the thugs have given them a deadline to give up their christian faith, or else they will be harmed.

The police cannot be really counted on for protection."

I think you should stop freaking yourself out over a silly email. The police can't be counted on for much anyway not just in case of Christians. In India dozens of Hindus get killed by terrorists almost everyday and the police is as much ineffective. No reason why Christians should be (or can be) given special treatment.

And its not that Indians haven't been killed in the US before.

My advise: Get over your anti-Hindu paranoia.

He was crucified because ignorant men did not recognize him. It would be no different today. The ignorant - those who profess to know the truth and love God - would crucify him all over again.

You are wrong this was foretold hundreds of years before Jesus was even born.

Isaiah 53:

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

As Jesus said He could have called many legions of angel and stopped this. There were many prophecies that determined Him to be the messiah, that He fulfilled.

As far as you not accepting the gift of salvation that is up to you. No one can force one to accept a gift. That may be thing that so many hate about Christianity.

"India may have improved but there's a long way to go!!!"

We don't need really certificates from US. We are a far more tolerant country than the US.

The US really isn't that perfect ....a far longer way to go. A Sikh had been killed and an Indian student was beaten to death post 9/11 and not to mention the major minor incidents of assaults and harassments from officials who mistake them as terrorists because of their looks.

Just because we dont bother to come out with a similar report on the US doesn't everything is all perfect. Just how many Hindu missionary actually proselytize and gather converts in US like how foreign Christian organistations are allowed to do in India? Perhaps its time some Hindu organistaion from India comes out with a report on religious freedom in US.

This was not my site but a site that someone posted earlier in this thread. I have read enough from the VOM and heard enough to know that there is persecution of Christian going on in India.

I am certain that many Germans also turned their heads and did not want to know the truth about what was happening in Germany. I hope that is all that you are doing rather than participating or knowingly attempting to deceive others.

I have heard this about the caste system. I wonder where ARridgerunner and Gengis Khan sit in the caste system. I guess pretty high up.

It is a horrible thing to treat others the way I hear the lower in the caste system are treated. I know I was thinking about the fact that one earthquake or one event could put all in the same boat.

The murderers of Grahams Stains have already been brought to justice I dont think you are aware of it considering your zeal for anti-Hindu propaganda.

My question was were did this happen? And the point is that it did happen! When you attempt to say that all the persecution is being made up this is one horrible satanic thing that did happen there.

Lady, you need to work on your general knowledge and you need to pick up news from a more reliable media that free of religious prejudice unlike the website you are reading from right now.

You have confused India with Pakistan. The persecutions are not happening in India its happening in eighbouring Pakistan. Right now Pakistan is in the news over church burning incidents. Nothing is happening in India, trust me I live here.

Search up "Pakistan" on FR. And also google up "Sangla hills and Nankana Church attack" on google news. You will know the truth.

I do appreciate the time you took to post the prophecies. Honestly, I do. They don't, however, negate the truth that Jesus Christ was killed by ignorant men for ignorant men. (Jesus said as much as he was dying.)

That Jesus was God incarnate I do believe. I do not believe Jesus died for my sins or anyone else's. It isn't necessary for God to crucify himself to "save" anyone. Save them from what? And for what?

Please give us more details! Who is KP Yohannan and what can we do to help? Who else should we get in touch with?

Thank you for any and all information you can give us on this matter!

My cast isn't really any of your business.

All I can say is you will have to do a lot to get out of your bigoted mindset to know more about Hinduism. Until then its pointless to argue with you.
