Russia to Sell $1B Worth of Weapons to Iran
Contender Ministries ^ | Dec 3rd, 2005 | Jennifer Rast

Events in the Middle East are starting to sound an awful lot like a lead up to the war of Gog and Magog prophesied in the Bible. If you’ve read the article about this on our site, you know that a possible player in that war is Russia, who will form an alliance with Islamic countries to attack Israel.

If Israel does what it recently promised to do and attacks Iran before it can get Nuclear weapons, it’s not hard to imagine Russian weapons being used by the coalition nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 to launch an attack on Israel. However, some interpretations of this prophecy include Iraq in the coalition of nations, which would rule out the war of Gog and Magog starting any time soon. Whether this is a build up to a fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 or not, Iran’s nuclear program may lead to violence between nations that will change the politics and the landscape of the Middle East forever.

The long range missiles Russia is giving Iran should definitely be of concern to all of us. Unfortunately, I don’t expect the EU or the U.S. to have the political will to do anything about it - anything more than make idle threats and draft resolutions, that is. It’s probably up to Israel to protect itself, at least initially.

Russia has agreed to sell more than $1 billion worth of missiles and other defense systems to Iran, Russian news media reported Friday, a move expected to draw a heated reaction from the United States.

The Interfax and ITAR-Tass news agencies cited unidentified sources in the Russian military-industrial complex as saying that Russian and Iranian officials had signed contracts in November that would send up to 30 Tor-M1 missile systems to Iran over the next two years.

Interfax said the Tor-M1 system could identify up to 48 targets and fire at two targets simultaneously at a height of up to 20,000 feet.

The news agency quoted its source as saying the two countries had reached a deal on modernizing Iran’s air force inventory, as well.

A tip for the Iranians: Israel wins. Whether God miraculously protects them, as has happened in other Islamic/Israeli wars, or the Russian weapons function about as well as they did in Afghanistan, Israel wins.

A tip for Russia: It probably wasn’t the smartest thing for Putin to give weapons to the friends of his enemy in Chechnya. The same Jihadist groups that are waging Jihad from Iran, with the full support of the Mullahs, are killing school children in Chechnya. Does Putin really believe Iran would hesitate for a second to give the Chechnyan rebels what they need to win a victory for Islam?

What is to stop Iran from exporting Suitcase-Nukes--once they develop them, of course--the same way they currently export terror. Iran will turn on its allies as soon as its convenient for them.

Definition:
Ezekiel 38 is the classic text used by many to prove a World War III or Armageddon-like invasion of Israel. WW III may actually be an engagement prior to the Tribulation Week involving an incident between the U.S. and the Arabs, followed by the neutralizing of the U.S.A. by Chinese and Russian missiles. However, Ezekiel 38 describes how the Russian-Arab alliance will be destroyed by "an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone" (Ezekiel 38:22) 30 days prior to the Middle of the Week.

Iran isn't going anywhere. To the west are its enemies the US and Iraq. To its east are its enemies the US and Afghanistan. To the north and south are the seas. It may launch a few missiles, but it will never seize territory as long as the US is in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's pretty much boxed in, and there's little need for a US invasion of any kind.

A)So you want the US to allow Iran, and their nuclear program, to fester like the malignant cancer that it is. This is a country, that for the past 25 years has had an Anti-America day. They will destroy the US at the first opportunity they have.

B) Who says their only interest is a land grab? There is credebile evidence to suggest they can use ICBMs against the US. Or like I said earlier they might develop suitcase-nukes which could devestate the US.

C)With the aid of Russian tech, any military action will be that much more difficult.

The passage of Ezekiel 38 is one of the most, specific, spectacular, and most fearsome prophecies in of the Old Testament. As Americans, we should take note that God clearly states in this fearsome prophecy, that "I will send fire to Magog - to those living undisturbed on the islands - and they will learn that I am the Lord. I have spoken! I am going to see that my holy name is known among my people Israel, and I will no longer allow my my holy name to be profaned; the nations shall learn that I am the Lord, holy in Israel." (Ezek 39:6)

Phrophecy, especially since there are disputes as to what they refer to, should not be relied upon as an excuse not protect national security.

No of course not but we should be *aware* so that we have an idea overall what is happening in the world and the outcome.

Putin had already told Bush about this during their recent meeting in Russia, What's up?

Give the Iranians lots of false confidence. They will put their new toys all around their nuclear facilities, making it much easier to locate them accurately . Their heat signatures will be photographed from orbit intelsats.

These toys won't make any difference, except provide clusters of targets for our forces , like on a shooting range. What Russia has sold Iran are targets, not weapons.

The Russians? They are still smarting from losing all the money on their oil exploration options when Iraq fell and now , what do you think any chances of retrieving the oil option money from Iraq? Zero. The Ruskies just waved goodbye to millions of bucks , just as the French and Germans have.

Things will now get very hot along the Iraq/Iran border
and if the Iranians bunch up like they usually do, its tach air time.

I wonder if that's what Bush saw when he looked into his soul or what the heck ever. Never trust the KGB.

Geopolitics is a messy business. What looks like a slap in our face may be more of a stab in the back of Iran.

Going into Iraq was 2 fold, number # 1 to get rid of a dictator threat of Saddam, and 2nd ? to sit and wait in what Iran will do.....

Oh sure, people always ask- where is the U.S. in the Bible? The scary truth is, we might not be anywhere- taken out by the time these end things start in motion. I've heard it said "those that dwell in safety ont eh coastlands", too. So some people have speculated about a sub nuke strike from the coasts. When I was a kid, we always heard about the 8 minutes it would take to get an ICBM from Moscow to the US. An attack from the coasts, would take about what, 30 seconds? Spooky stuff. Plus, they've been playing around with missles that can pass through our missle shield. With friends like them...

Whos to say, that they ( IRAN MULLAHS ) won't sneak some suitcase nukes into both the USA and Russia ? or even China... just to get the real powers to get into a nuke war.

True, we might be taken out as a nation when this all truly plays out.

The chinese are also selling high tech arms to the Iranians, and the Iranians have been invited into the Shanghai Coorperative Organization.

I still think that they will come our way before fighting Israel. They (Russia/CIS and China) are arming Chavez, Castro, and other communist thugs in our own hemisphere to the teeth, and they have the Panama Canal.
