What's missing from the White House Christmas card? Christmas.
This month, as in every December since he took office, President Bush sent out cards with a generic end-of-the-year message, wishing 1.4 million of his closest friends & supporters a "happy holiday season".
Many people are thrilled to get a White House Christmas card, no matter what the greeting inside. But some conservative Christians are reacting as if Bush stuck coal in their stockings.

why are republicans so afraid of saying "Christmas" it was easy for the democrats.
"Merry Christmas From the President and Mrs. Roosevelt," said his first annual card, in 1933.
"The President and Mrs. Kennedy Wish You a Blessed Christmas" and 200 said "With Best Wishes for a Happy New Year."

Did it escape you that there are JEWS who support the president too?

Why don't you tell us what the Preisdent is alluding to; I can't seem to find it:
A Psalm of David.
1 Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

The WP dosesn't get it .. that or is trying to start troubleApparently it's not "just" the Washington Post that doesn't "get it."
There seem to be a few "real conservatives" around here who are offended by the card, too.

did it escape you that from the time of President U. S. Grant, Christmas has been a National, Official, US Holiday for ALL AMERICANS to Celebrate. and any Jew who is insulted from getting a Christmas Card or a greeting of Merry Christmas from a store clerk, is a mean-spirited, simple person.
And why did you just single out Jews? I bet there are some atheists, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists who also supported Bush. No? and so what? He can still send a Christmas greeting since Christmas is a federal holiday and as President he is in charge of and represents the federal government.

In liking the card, you are supporting the ACLU and terrorists.
The Psalms verse matters none. Everyone knows that the Old Testament isn't really God's Word or in the Christian scriptures.

Thanks for posting the card
from the article
Bush "claims to be a born-again, evangelical Christian. But he sure doesn't act like one," said Joseph Farah, editor of the conservative Web site WorldNetDaily.com. "I threw out my White House card as soon as I got it."
I'm thinking he didn't get one ... or didn't read it
