Iran says does not need permission for nuclear work

Reuters:
Iran is ready to discuss its nuclear programme with any country, but that does not mean it is asking for permission for access to nuclear technology, Iran's foreign minister said on Monday.

Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology was supported by "many countries of the world", Manouchehr Mottaki told a news conference during a one-day visit to the Afghan capital, Kabul.

"We do not accept global nuclear 'apartheid' and scientific 'apartheid'," Mottaki said.

Iran was ready to discuss its programme. "But that does not mean that we are waiting for any country's permission for the right of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic to enjoy nuclear technology," he said.

Iran insists on its right to produce enriched uranium, vital for nuclear power plants or bombs, but swears its goal is solely to fuel an energy-hungry economy.

The United States accuses Iran of trying to produce nuclear weapons. Iran kept its nuclear programme secret for 18 years.

Iranian nuclear negotiators met counterparts from the EU trio of Britain, Germany and France in Vienna last week for the first face-to-face talks for several months to try to overcome suspicions over Tehran's nuclear programme.

Both sides agreed to meet again in January.

Mottaki said Iran's nuclear plans were transparent and solely for peaceful purposes.

  • Yahoo News reported that a reformist-funded satellite television channel plan to take legal action against Iranian authorities for allegedly banning their activities and broadcast into Iran.
  • Amir Taheri, The New York Post warned of the fantasies of the 'Realists.'
  • SMCCDI reported that tens of the Greater Tehran's bus drivers have been arrested in the last 24 hours.
  • Daily Times reported that Pakistan has dismissed speculations of Iran being behind the deteriorating situation in Balochistan.
  • Radio Free Europe published an interview with Kaveh Basmenji to discuss his book, "Tehran Blues," and prospects for Iranian youth.
  • Golnaz Esfandiari, Radio Free Europe published an interview with a 19-year-old Iranian named Arash, who delivers pizzas for a Tehran pizzeria. He said young people in Iran are worried about the future.
  • Ray Takeyh, The Financial Times argued that diplomacy will not end Iran's nuclear program.
  • Erik Schechter, The Jerusalem Post reported there are five options on the table for dealing with Iran and its suspected nuclear weapons program.
  • And finally, Dow Jones Newswires reported that Russia is waiting for Tehran's reply to a proposal to move Iranian uranium enrichment facilities to Russian soil.

Mottaki said Iran's nuclear plans were transparent and solely for peaceful purposes and so was the steel that the United States sold to Japan!

Well, yeah, Iran doesn't need permission to build nuclear bombs.

And by the same rights, The civilized, rational non-islamofascist world does not need permission to take whatever steps necessary to protect themselves from the nuclear devistation that the leaders of Iran have often and openly declared as their strategic goal, their individual desire and their religious duty.

We in the US and New Europe don't need permission to defend our freedom if the mad mullahs push this issue too far.

Here's hoping Ariel Sharon will hurry up and get his heart problems behind him so that he can get on with the crucial business of bombing the hell out of Iran.

Iran are an anti American country.
They are a hell of a lot more powerful then Iraq was.

But the U.S will never attack them, because the U.S. will only start a war against very week nations, where it will be an easy victory, and even that gets dragged out for decades(Iraq).

I believe it was Ronald Reagan who said the mullahs who oppress Iran are "the strangest collection of thugs, misfits and criminals since the advent of the third riech."

I think, perhaps there is an extra 'u' in the user name... And maybe the 'ie' is superfluous.

None of those even come close to the last on the list. All the others not involving kids are fun to watch. By the way, you left out Chicken on Chicken with a little money wagered on the side.

All right you PETA heads and self-righteous Bennett inspired anti gamblers, stop trying to fight nature. If you think the hens watching two males try to kill each other in the woods or the barnyard aren't betting corn/acorns/pig turds on who will be the winner, you don't know chicken sh-- about women OR birds.
