The Strike on Pashawar - Sung to "The Battle of New Orleans"
Self | 17 January 2006 | Jeff Head

Posted on 01/18/2006 3:38:23 PM PST by Jeff Head

Verse 1:
In early ought six we made a little noise,
Yonder there in Pakistan for Al Quida and its boys

We heard there was a meeting so we planned the mission well,

And when the missiles landed, they all was blown to...

Chorus:
Well, their burkas went a flyin' in amongst their body parts,
they was shreddin and a tearin' as the building came apart.

Though they met in darkness, the blast was light as day,
and when it all was over all their asses ran away.

Verse 2:
We wanted al-Zawahiri, but he couldn't make the date,
So we settled for ole Mursi, and we sent him to his fate,

He'd bombed and planned and murdered, and he thought that he was fell,

But when the missiles landed, all his plans was blown to...

Chorus:
Well, their burkas went a flyin' in amongst their body parts,
shreddin and a tearin' as the building came apart.

Though they met in darkness, the blast was light as day,
and when it all was over all their asses ran away.

Ya, they ran through the canyons and they ran through the bushes,
and they ran through the thickets where their camels couldn't go.

They ran so fast that reporters couldn't catch them,
Carryin' dead and wounded so nobody else would know.

Verse 3:
Bin Laden heard the story and he laid down on his side,
and then he started moanin' when he heard that Mursi died,

He knew he'd go on hidin' and some day he too could tell,

The missiles they would come for him, and he'd be blown to...

"He'd bombed and planned and murdered, and he thought that he was fell"

He thought that he was "fell"?

What the hell does that mean?

Thanks...I believe we dealt them a hard blow. Only wish it had been harder and netted a couple of other "special" targets.

Thanks...I believe the hunt is ongoing and intense for the likes of bin-Laden and his cronies and they are having to keep their heads down very low and hide in holes...one day, they will meet their end at the hands of our military personnel.

OK, who can you get to record it and have it played on Armed Forces Radio and Rush? I like it, it has a good beat, I'll give it a 9, Dick. I'll tell all my friends at the soda shop to buy it!

I know time is limited, but if you are looking for a good first-person account of the war in Afghanistan, check out "Jawbreaker" by Gary Berntsen.

Will do so...thanks!

One I read was "Not a good Day to Die". Pretty descriptive and graphic accounts of the biggest set battle to date in Afganistan..a little slanted though.

Great job!!!!

I remember listening to the original as a kid in 1960 when we drove from Buffalo in our move to Miami.

"we filled his head with cannonballs and powdered his behind, and when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind" !!!!

Wellllll, we fired our guns and the British kep a comin, there wasn't quite as many as there was awhile ago,
we fired once more and they began a'runnin,
on down the Missisippi to the Gulf of Mexico......

Haven't heard it in a coons age!

Still love that song...made the long drive more bearable as we cruised the Blueridge Parkway! Along with Doris Day, Nat and Frankie!

"Ole Hickory told us we'd take 'em by surprise, if we held our fire til we looked 'em in th eyes.

"So we held our fire til we seen the British well, and then we opened up and we really gave them...

"Well, we fired our guns..."

If you ever get the chance to read a detailed account of that battle, do so. It was amazing. About 3,500 US troops (mostly state militias) against over 12,000 seasoned British regulars. There were some amazing events and issues that turned what should have been an easy British victory into a route of the British by the American forces. In about 30 minutes of the initial heavy fighting, 19 MAmericans were killed and well over 3,000 British. That's when they broke and ran to get away from the slaughter.
