A leading U.S. nuclear proliferation expert said Teheran obtained an atomic bomb about a decade ago from the nuclear black market. The expert said Iran sought to produce additional nuclear weapons through technology from Pakistan and other countries.

"The one functional device Iran has," Mansoor Ijaz, a U.S. nuclear scientist, said, "is the result of clandestine transfers from Pakistan's rogue black market nuclear scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, who sold the Iranians antiquated but highly effective Chinese bomb designs and parts, including spherical shell casings, spherical Krytron detonation switches and empirical software testing modules."

On Saturday, Iran threatened to launch a missile strike against the West. The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Maj. Gen. Rahim Safavi, said Teheran could retaliate with the Shihab-3 intermediate-range missile against what he termed was British efforts to foment unrest in western Iran.

Gee, wouldn't it be GREAT if the United States could create a way to set all Iran's bombs off at the same moment? Like right NOW?

I could see that being a handy thing to do to north korea too...

We've already got sanctions against Iran. I sure hope the Gallup poll is not making our policy vis a vis Iran.

And all the Fifth Column Democrats and news commentators in this country will push for a war on Iran just so they can jump in 4 weeks later and say how wrong Bush was to do it.

If Jack Bauer can do it...

"Iran President takes banking system to task"

Seems like banks ought to be completely illegal in Iran. You can't pay or receive interest.

Why don't we sell Iran some old nuke bombs on the black market (of course they would not know it was from the US), and have hidden triggers in them and detonate them when they get to Iran ...

And ... who is Jack Bauer???

To neutralize Iran, its oil exports must be threatened.

Without oil money the Iran regime would collapse in months.

Give them a choice between oil or nuclear.

Give them an offer they can't refuse.

Their oil infrastructure is on the surface and easily disrupted.

The temporary spike in oil prices might spur domestic drilling and a Manhattan Project solution to energy independence.

Get the Democrats and their environmental wacko cohorts out of the way and America could attain energy independence in a generation.

OK a TV star guy .. I had to read the "Star of 24" a few times to figure it out, I wasn't sure what you meant by "24".
Well, since I haven't had TV in about a year and a half I just hear about TV shows on the radio.
I'm about to pop the Maltese Falcon in the VCR in a few minutes ... they don't make actors like they use too.

That works for me - anything but wasting American lives over there.

Jack Bauer is the anti-terrorist character of 24, the best show on TV. 9 p.m. eastern on Monday on FOX. It's relevant to your post - Bauer was watching some bomb-vested terrorists holding hostages and he reprogrammed his cell phone to the frequency of a terrorist's phone, then hit send and blew the terrorist to pieces.

This smells more like if Iran already had a nuke, they must be responsible. This reduces the need to attack Iran to end there nuke quest. Thus Bush is out foxed and the war is unnecessary.

On the other hand.... Who was the president 10 years ago? It surely wasn't Bush 41 or Bush 43. Who could it be?

I am not a biggie for TV either but 24 is pretty good.

There is a crackin thread here at FR while the show is in progress.

"The one functional device Iran has," Mansoor Ijaz, a U.S. nuclear scientist, said, "is the result of clandestine transfers from Pakistan's rogue black market nuclear scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan,

Well, if that were true, it would've been just as easy, perhaps easier, for Saddam to get his hands on the same nuclear weapons. Saddam was more actively looking to get his hands on WMDs way before Iran came into the nuclear picture.

If you have not been watching "24" on TV, you have been missing one of the few intelligent scenarios of what could happen if we are not vigilant.

Problem is that we are not the only consumer of vast quantities of oil, China can pick up our slack.

We need Nuclear Reactors, Coal, Domestic drilling, more diesel powered vehicles and a rope and tall tree for every tree hugger. (I just added that last part myself)
