14) America knows and understands the Democrats stand for: Your 13year old daughter can have an abortion without telling you; Two queers (their word not mine) marrying is a healthy alternate lifestyle; America is a force for evil in the world; An American defeat in Iraq would be a good thing; America is always wrong. Europe is superior to America; We should cut and run in a quick surrender in Iraq; Hollywood values are American values; Voters are stupid and liberal activist judges know better; Patriotism is child like and corny; School prayer was the cause of problems in our government schools; All money belongs to Washington; What a great summation. I bet you're a lawyer. This list is going in my favorites for future use. Thanks.

9) Blacks are slowly leaving the Democrats
I hear this every election cycle but the numbers never reflect that.
I guess it all depends on how much emphasis is put on "Slowly".

That's a good one. The whole post is excellent analysis, btw.

"11) Redistricting make the numbers impossible"
In my opinion, caving to black interest groups after the 1990 census is the reason the dems were taken out in 1994. The damage was done and can never be repaired by the dems.

So many good comments here:
Evangelicals are in the game to stay.
Another problem for the Democrats is the Christian mega church movement. The Evangelical Christian has become the GOPs Black voter. They were a very powerful force in 2004. They will be again in November.
This one really sums up my entrance into the arena of "paying close attention" to what goes on in Washington. I really think they lost it with the Gay Marriage movement. They awoke the sleeping giant. The gay issue also resulted in a strong movement of blacks to the Republican side.

The rat party needs to be banned and outlawed. The choice on ballots should be republicans vs libertarians, i.e. a legitimate left/centrist/religious party vs a legitimate laissez faire conservative/capitalist party.
At a minimum we need runoff elections.

Democrats are still formidable foes. They control the big cities; many as the single party. In Pennsylvania, Democrats are the only political party in inner city Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Washington, DC, is the same. That is a lot of people whose votes count Democrat, without the Democrats having to do anything.
Hence, I think, now is the time locally for pushing for our preferred primary candidates, and unifying against Democrats.

Excellent post!
It was only a matter of time before voters saw the Dems for what they are- part of the evil triad of "dems, unions and organized crime". I can fully believe that Kennedy did not hear the national horse laff as he railed on about the lack of ethics in the republican party.
As Rush says: "Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment."
