Fox Radio/Tony Snow | 2/22/2006 | Tony Snow

Tony Snow is back and better than ever!  Tony's guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

Sensible People Object
What does it mean when sensible politicians like Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), and Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) object to the port deal? Tony takes a close look.

Bush Comes Down Hard
The President came out strong on the port issue, saying he would veto any legislation to block the port deal. The President's protected us before; should we trust him this time?

So What's Really Going On at the Ports?
Intrepid reporter Griff Jenkins went on a tour of the Port of Baltimore, one of the ports slated to have its operations transferred to Dubai Ports World, to find out exactly what goes on there.

You can find out more information about the line-up, stream Tony's show, find local radio stations as well as other fun stuff off his website.

And there's more!

Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later.

If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request.
All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time
-- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

That is always possible. They would not have to be in the Middle East for that to happen.

I think Dubya just cooked up the port thing to get Dead-Eye Dick off the front pages.

Actually, just the opposite.

Cheney shot his friend to cover for some things he and W cooked up and tried to slide by the ever vigilant mainstream press. Unfortunately, the cover didn't last quite long enough and now W and the Evil Dick have been "caught again".

What would keep them fro kidnapping the current management? Do you think kidnappers only operate in the Middle East?

Senator Feinstein said that ports should be "governmentally operated" ……whatever that means. Is she talking about employment, ethics or efficiency?

If we let the Feds run the ports, the slowdown and inefficiency will help our end of the trade deficit.

If they cut out all the unnecessary pork, they could use a portion of it to as incentive, and still save a bundle.

I'm so disgusted with the comments and insinuate or plainly state that the president is drinking. A very weak argument from varmint posters.

Oh somebody's going to do it, and it's going be a lot more expensive. Today I plan to watch where the money seems to be flowing.

I like this from the WSJ: ,p> "The story only blew up last week, as a Florida firm that is a partner with P & O in Miami, Contincnatl Stevedoring and Terminals Inc., filed a suit to block the purchase. Miami's mayor also sent a letter of protest to Mr. Bush. It wouldn't be the first time if certain politicians were acting here on behalf of private American commerical interests."

and snip

On Democrats: "Guantanamo must be closed beause it's terrible PR, wiretapping al Qaeda in the U.S. is illegal, and the U.S. needs to withdraw from Iraq, but these Democratic superhawks simply will not allow Arabs to be put in charge of American longshoremen."

Give her time..these things take a while. For pure voice, little Paris has got them all beat, IMHO, but I --and my wife--liked Becky's whole demeanor and look and sound.

It would have to be one mother of ain incentive. I can think of one BIG reason why a US firm wouldn't touch it: LIABILITY.

God forbid, can you imagine what would happen to any company running a port that had a WMD come through it.

Personally, I don't think there's any incentive in the world that could get an American company to do the job.

I think this is a combination of ignorance, stupidy and possibly cupidity. And maybe the Dems have got an idea to nationalize the ports support with government employees. Wouldn't that be lovely.

"This morning on Fox and Friends, Senator Mendendez of New Jersey said that maybe we should "incentivize" the company that runs the New Jersey port operation. Can you see him brining that pork home to N.J.?"
