1) Sadr wants to control parts of Iraq
2) The Sunnis want to control parts of Iraq

Al Sadr has been fighting American forces since this war's infancy, as have the Sunnis and Al Quaeda.
I find it odd that immediately after having the most important shrine is the Muslim world bombed, that Al Sadr wants to call truce.

I think it's pure BS and fog.

Until i see Sunnis and Shiia come together in masses in the streets, in unison...i will keep my point of view.

My take: Sadr's seeing that the civil war his men have tried to incite isn't panning out the way he expected, which could mean that the two sides could instead start turning on him instead of on each other, and he's in full damage-control mode now. But I'm willing to consider other explanations.

I just try to offer balance. I to had voiced similiar misgivings about the fat boy. It was rather convienent he was out of town when the attack took place. Since is is a criminal that most probably did murder, as well as his obvious two years of rantings and anti-western rhetoric we must continue to believe he could have arranged things. What does bother me is that Sistani with all the senior clerics have not demanded him muzzled as earlier on. Sistani with his in tow ayatollahs in charge have for two years demanded a free democratic elected government come into being. And he more then once in public discourse indicated the government should be secular. Only allowing per the constitution for the supreme religious council to have say in how laws are created and interpreted.
If this is a true state, I remain a bit puzzled why Sadr has been allowed to go as far as he has since he is but a minor cleric, regardless of his local milita, militas can be forced to totally disband or face harse consequences if the Iraqi government wanted it to be.

Gag,barf, vomito and sorendo. Frigen goons are going crazy! They are so desperate as things gel. So many journalist's reps are on the line. They lost big in Afghanistan, purple fingers prevailed. It was impossible for a federal level democratic election to be held in that far land without total blood shed and chaos. In Iraq, it was impossible for a democratic elections to be held without a total civil war breaking out to prevent it from coming to past. They where all wrong. It was impossible for any form of constitution to be drafted let alone voted into existence, to many different factions in Iraq would make such a thing impossible. They where wrong.
Now they really are going into epileptic seizures. They are not capable of providing well though out factual journalism free from bias.
